AFF Member Stock Discussion

We have been renovating an old beach house and doing up an apartment interior. The idea of attempting a new build in PERth would be close to a mission impossible. Tradies and materials are still in short supply so Western Australia is currently Wait Awhile.
i was happy with the Brickworks report but they are facing quite a few challenges on emissions.
Today Japan intervened in the foreign exchange market and that stopped the $AUD falling further.
The weak $AUD makes the US look really expensive for pretty much everything.

Looks like the government is trying to change the franking credits again, those who are with Wilson asset management will no doubt have seen the emails from Geoff Wilson but for those who haven’t seen them there are some article floating around about this

I never understand why any country ever votes a Labour government into power :sigh:

I can't recall when I last posted on MFG except to say that I know I predicted further downside and it has come along. I can see it testing the $8 level next and a break to the downside from there will likely see it plunging to close to $4.

It may look cheap now but I certainly advise against anyone buying in.

Any views on OLL?

I wouldn't.

Any info/reasons?

You would be buying into a very obvious downtrend and therefore if you are bullish, you will be trading against the trend. I would wait and see whether a bottom and a change of trend occurs otherwise:
  1. you could potentially be tying your capital up for a long time waiting for it to recover; or
  2. you could lose it all.

I know someone who just started working there. They said these guys have the best online learning platforms he had seen. He has worked at a number of unis.

Opinions don't matter. Especially from an insider.

The chart is telling you that the business is curently not doing well.

They're currently priced at 9x revenue, have about 4 quarters of cash remaining and expect to increase the cash spend (loss) in the coming period compared to most recent. And their revenue went down in the past qtr compared to the previous due to a change in their business model which only may or may not turnaround at some point in the future.

Very speculative, no reason for the share price to go up at this point based on business activities, regardless of the quality of their product.

All this is in the chart for those who care to look.

At the time of this brief discussion, the share price was around 20 cents. It is now 2.5 cents.

I advised against buying and I was correct to do so. Easy to say with hindsight, one might observe, but the chart does tell you what you need to know....

Who does this relate to? I can't see an ASX code or company name.

Swings and roundabouts..the trend is your friend..I have done well with no complaints
Otoh , my one rat study says I would have done much better investing exclusively in real estate

Have received the MACA takeover money this week so have to make a plan to re-invest.
We missed the CXO offer by minutes but we are loaded with lithium shares.
Tietto had some good/great gold drilling results outside of their main discovery.
The big bank shares are doing well. We received some Westpac and NAB compensation and those big four shares are going up a bit.
Even BOQ jumped from their recent low.

All I'm seeing today is a sea of red with a tiny green island or two on the horizon.
I'm picturing a Green Island & it looks pretty nice, Palm trees, green pristine grass, maybe some green coral off shore.
Beats a red island or sea of red.

Or Green Island off Cairns a nice little gem.

Our Codan thought has been a big mistake so far.

You have clearly made some very good calls over the years, well done.
I looked at Codan when you mentioned it a while back and decided it was not for me….
