After a quiet long weekend, there was bound to be a bit of an upswing when the 'regulars' got back and started to catch up on their posts. I was actually expecting that yesterday, and while it did pick up in the evening, the day itself was strangely quiet.

I guess I came back about half a day late and missed it all again.

I just want to say thanks for the Datapoints Mwenenzi. Very cool and useful!

Just in case my earlier post was/is taken the wrong way, I just want to reinforce that I don't think or blame postpadding occurred by anyone (particularly Serfty). oz_mark explained it better than I can. Everything were useful posts in genuine threads and it wasn't like the debacle of 70,000 posts. The last thing we need is another regular disappearing on the radar. Thanks for the contributions Serfty. ;)

I disappeared onto a conference call for an hour when there was still more than 30 posts required, got back in time to see it just over the 100,000 mark.

Nup no post padding from moi; after not reading posts for 8 days I had (IIRC) 156 unread posts when I logged on today.

Answered a few queries, made a few observations; You find my overall post rate this month is consistent with my AFF history.

Now that I can predict the 100,000 post; I wish it were possible to predict the stock market and the currency movements then I would be really set. ;)

Serfty did call it a bit soon but looks like he had some reading to catch up on. :D

Now is it possible that some of you could go and read my SQ A380 flights; I was up until midnight trying to get it finished. Return trip part not even finished.

Wooo - I didn't log on for the past 24 or so hours and now I come back to this. Congrats to the victors! :D

So by that countback, it appears that Moi might have posted the 100,000 post.:o Shame (and please give it a good audit)
That sounds about right but no prize for posting the 100,000th post. :(

By the way that is way over 200 posts in less than a day. Why couldn't that be one day earlier? ;)

In first place and winner of a 12 month AFF Gold subscription is Bundy Bear
In second place and winner of a 12 month AFF Silver subscription is oz_mark
In third place is JohnK. OK, no prize but he is a nice bloke.

The winner of 3 silk ties, donated by Ric, for predicting who will make 100,000th post is Reggie.

The winner of the novelty prize of a 12 month AFF Silver subscritpion is Evan.

_______ 100,000th post

I believe there was a deleted post and this post by littl_flier is the 100,000th post. Bad luck to the 99,999th post by futaris and the 100,001st post by Wunala Dreaming.

_______ Who will post 100,00th post?

For who will post the 100,00th post littl_flier was chosen only by 2 people so Reggie gets in with littl_flier as second choice for 3/02/08 2 days ahead of the QF009 as the only other person to predict littl_flier.

_______ Novelty prize

The furthest guess, 1 week away, from the 100,000th post was 6/02/08 almost exactly 1 week after the actual 100,000th post.

_______ Summary

Unless there are any serious objections these results are final and will be submitted to admin with all clear. If you already have a 12 month AFF subscription then your current subscription will be extended by another 12 months.

Reggie you will need to send me PM with your address so I can send the silk ties to you.

Do not worry the Winner's Podium will be updated when correct weight has been posted.

Congratulations to all the winners. Commiserations to all the non-winners and the next contest will be in 10,000 posts time. It is too long to wait 6-12 months for the next contest.

I object!!

Nobody bribed me to delete posts or to contribute to post padding to influence the outcome. Poor showing indeed :p . And there was me thinking I could benefit with a nice little earner on the side by playing one bidder off against another. Oh well, maybe next time.

Oh, sorry, you said serious objections.

Firstly Ric, thankyou for your generosity in donating the silk ties as a prize.

As those here may realise, I do not have a use for ties and such a prize would really be wasted on me. If it is okay with Ric, I would like to redonate the ties for a prize for the 110,000th post, or maybe the 111,111th post, either way I will leave it up to the game master JohnK.

I guess it will be OK but I will leave it up to Ric.

How about giving them to simongr since he loves suits and ties. Only condition is he has to be nice to the little people for a week. :p ;)

Guess we will be looking for another tie recipient then :p

JohnK,

You are the head honcho for this contest......judge and executor!!

But.....I think its a shame that poster i.e. littl_flier, who posted the 100,000th post does not get anything. Maybe one tie to littl_flier and use the others for whatever. Just my thoughts.

Anyway, your call...I am ok with your judgment on this.

Congrats to all winners!

Ric

No serious objections so far? The result posted above is final.

OK sounds good Ric.

As Reggie does not need the prize it will be offered to littl_flier for posting the 100,000th post. I will bring the silk ties with me to the FT AGM in BNE in 3 weeks.

I dont think the silk ties will go well with my long sleeve shirts - being orange and having reflective strips on them.

That's incredibly kind of you, thanks Ric and JohnK. :D A big thanks Ric for donating the ties. I wear them most days so they'll definitely come in handy! ;)

JohnK, I look forward to meeting you. Only three weeks to go until the party flight and QF AGM.
