A maybe at this stage. I’m bronze, but if I take a business flight from ADL-SYD-AKL then it’ll push me up to silver given that it’s double status credits at the moment

Just for a bit of a laugh here..when I wrote that comment ^ I was scrolling along reading responses and thinking "hmm..everyone seems to state their FF status. I better tell them that I'm bronze, and that perhaps I'll make it to silver if I attend. Maybe there's some special reason as to why everyone reveals their status"

Another user explained it to me after I asked why. It was a big "ah-ha!" moment. Heh.

I understand that peoples plans change. I was thinking the organiser should be indemnified by all those that say they expect to attend or perhaps a suitable deposit payable and not considered attending till paid - like the ADL wine tours. Deposit then becomes part payment. More admin but no one is left in the lurch.

Are there any more AKL based members we can chase up? Maybe @NZ_Flyer has a suggestion.

I don't get back to NZ until the 11th. If you'd like I could ask someone else (that I've not met) if they know any other NZ flyers that might be interested in attending? Very long shot but might help with your deposit and you'd still end up talking about flying anyway???

Looks like the more the merrier. Put anyone interested in touch. If they are interested in any aspect of aviation they will be right at home.

There are a few of the old Euro staff there, they are familiar with the likes of AFF types. A really good bunch of folk.

Good to hear. I would have of course covered any loss of deposit for my place had it come to that!

I never like confirming and then pulling out of an event. I embarrassingly double booked myself this time around (I forgot to put AKL in my calendar, and then booked another trip as well).

Will make up for it next time
