ALL QF's 330's to get lay flat Business seating - Including Domestic

EBG/EBL - the two SkyBed I angles flat aircraft (not recliners) are solely international.

As mentioned previously QF have used the Refurb Y iPad subfleet internationally - but expect this is only temporary as they now move onto refurb of the remaining 6 aircraft with screens in Y, starting with EBN which along with EBS/EBV will become a fleet of 8 332s likely targeted for international services
Eg. VH-EBE did a QF81/82/81/36/35/82 pattern from 20/2 to 23/2 before going back to PER routes

EBG and EBL do fly domestically. Have been on both on MEL/SYD vv sectors.

MMB is showing that I'm flying MEL-SYD on one of them in a couple of weeks; booked ages ago and was hoping that I'd luck out with the new cabin but no joy on either leg so far.

We did get a refurb on a SYD-MEL leg a while ago, and it didn't show as one until about 6 hours before departure.

There are no guaranteed routes bit with 8/10 330-300s completed the chances are getting better.

That said VH-QPJ (the only active unrenovated 333) has been used on SYD-BKK 5 of the last 7 days, but it should go into Refurb mid-April

Thanks. Is this permanently a 333 route or do they sub in a 332 from time to time?

I'm a bit eager, my next SYD-BKK isn't until October when they'll probably all be completed. It's showing suites on MMB now, just hope it sticks!

Think in the past it has received 332s as well. At the moment there are 4 332 aircraft that are mostly used on international - two refurbs and two old international with SkybedI

So it's a good chance but not guaranteed at the moment.

By October I would say very high likelihood they will all be complete

Stepped off QPJ from Bangkok yesterday morning (4/3) and flew up on EBG on 2/2 both with with Sky Bed Mark 1, just my luck. Surely by October you should OK.

I wouldn't read much into the wording of the email.
Its only real function was to mollify frequent flyers who might otherwise have felt that the profit being announced had somehow come at their expense.
Of course nothing could be further from the simpler, fairer truth.
Seeing the refurb was announced more than 2 years ago before the oil price had tanked thus allowing this years QF profit I think your conclusion is just a little off.

Sorry this is off topic but I reckon someone here will know the answer. Where can I find out the rego for the B717 scheduled to fly QF1510 CBR-SYD on 6 April. Reason I ask is our 3A/C U seats have been bumped to 13E/F (X).

Can't tell the rego, but ExpertFlyer shows an all-Y 2x3 layout

Thanx moa999. So its an equipment change to an all Y and our J seats have disappeared. Wonder if they were going to tell us before we arrived on the a/c. If they had reallocated the same seats it would have worked.

I wonder, considering QF have highly publicised the new A330 J product, whether a complaint about the skybed mk I would result in a partial refund? After all, they are marketing 333 and 332 flights as having J Suites and it's confirmed in seat selection.

Nope.. They don't give refunds if you end up on the two SkyBed I equipped 747s either.

I also don't think they have ever stated all services in their ads

It's hard to read the fine print on their giant billboards though, which may be sufficient to satisfy the ACCC...

"Progressively being introduced" is in the first sentence under the picture: A330 Business Suites
I think I also remember the giant billboard in SIN having a giant asterisk as the bottom right corner saying something to that effect. I don't feel it fits the "deceptive" advertisement category, but you may feel differently.

The TV ad has a microprint description along those lines, but I do recall some time ago, people booked on the A380 that were downgraded to a 747 received compensation, or were offered to change their flight to a day that had an A380 operated service. Anyway, by October I'm hoping that all the birds have been refurbished and it will be a moot point.

It has wordings such as "selected" services, and "progressively introduced... Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane throughout 2016". There's a bit of a marketing push for it in SIN at the moment.
