ALL QF's 330's to get lay flat Business seating - Including Domestic

As mentioned a few times, there can only be one seat map per plane in the system. it is likely that the seat map will update once the plane has been refurbished. With only 2 planes to go they will all be done by January.

I have booked a trip to Hawaii on qf3/4 in Business class. On seat map though it seems it's an old map showing on qantas and expert flyer. It's showing 2-2-2 config and doesn't look like the business suite at all?

flying on Jan 29 2017.

Is is this a glitch on bookings this far in advance ?

It has been mentioned previously a number of times that you are seeing the seat map of the aircraft currently allocated to your flight. If the aircraft hasn't been refurbed yet, you will see the old seat map that is the current seat map for the aircraft.

check the seats about mid oct and you will probably find it's changed. Just a hint when selecting your seats, the seats with the console to the windows side have the larger beds 25". some are only 23 & 24"

That may be true but it puts you right on the aisle where noise, light, FA's and other pax come barelling past.

My personal preference would be to give up an inch of seat width for more privacy against the aisle.

yes sitting next to aisle can be a pain. when I booked I had selected a window seat but with this new layout the console gets the window.
it's not the seats that are wider its the beds. seems the arm slides down and it makes it wider at the sleeping shoulder.

And remember if travelling as a couple select the middle E/F not AB or JK as the B's and J's will disapear if a refurbished A/C.

Seems as though the refurb of the final two birds has been postponed.

I'm told that they need the Skybed I birds to continue doing the HNL sectors, as the refurbed A332s don't have adequate galley storage for the two full meal services, snacks etc.

That's not the end of the world. The Skybed I is streets ahead of any of the old recliner options. At least we will be guaranteed a bed in J now.

Agree not completing the roll out is poor.
While the sky bed Is are bearable, the old Rockwell Collins IFE is horrible (same issue on the two non refurb 747s)

What is the source for that brettmcg?

Seems a bit odd that nobody anticipated this when they planned the refurbishment two years back... unless J loads to HNL have suddenly picked up the last two years?

Or was it planned for the A333s to fly to HNL instead?

Not refurbing those last 2 747s was a silly idea in hindsight too.

Yes but 4+ years in to the program and it comes across as a major oversight as they have always stated they would be refurbing the whole fleet.
 
This is really very disappointing. Having experienced the unrefurbed 747 and 332 in the last few months, they really are a sub standard hard product.

They are. But then so is the J cabin on the 737 and that isn't going to change.
Yet you can pay the same fare and end up on one of them.
For that matter the skybeds on the A380s aren't going to be replaced soon either!
Whereas I suspect the B787s will replace the A332s on the HNL route next year.
 
And where do the non-refurbs go when not being used for HNL? The rest of the system? So potentially still a very real chance of paying $7000+ to Shanghai and ending up with Mk1 rather than the advertised suites :(
