I got the email a couple of days out from the flight, sure enough it was EBC we were on so the 1000 points posted a couple of days after the flight.
So they're giving away 200,000 points every time that plane flies?

What time is your flight?

I flew over yesterday on one of the returned J* birds in J and did not enjoy it at all - it was one of those "when it is bad it is really bad" Qantas experiences you get occasionally. I'm hoping to get the opposite tomorrow on the return as 802 is currently the new config.

that sux

7:25am for me tomorrow

On the East-West and vv until the refurbs are complete it would seem QF are gifting up to 299k worth of points.

IIRC BA ended up gifting 50K avois or 250 quid for anyone stuck on an old F bird

Just got this:

We’re progressively making improvements to the inflight entertainment experience across the Qantas Domestic fleet, including the reconfiguration of our A330s from late 2014.
However, we wanted to let you know that while the A330 aircraft currently scheduled to operate your upcoming flight QF0762has overhead screens showing a variety of movies, TV and news programs, it may not yet be fitted with individual entertainment via in-seat screens or Q Streaming. Should this be the case, we’d like to credit your Qantas Frequent Flyer account with 1,000 bonus Qantas Points* which are in addition to any Qantas Points earned for the flight.
We are very excited about our A330 refurbishment program, and we can’t wait to welcome you on-board.

I can't remember the last time i had an A330 with only overhead screens and no personal entertainment :-|

I had it two weeks ago on TG, flight length 3 hours. I survived.

PS the Qantas ones with overhead screens still have personal entertainment, just not seatback IFE.

In had no screens MEL-PER and PER-MEL this week. Any advice from people on how to ask QF for the points offer? Seems unfair to give them to some but not to others

That is super exciting. Doing my 5th trip in 7 weeks on Mon-Tues, still haven't seen one!

I guess I'll just email and ask why I'm not being compensated and other pax are. Thanks for the info

i need clarification from anyone who has ACTUALLY flown the new suite (or redroo)....are you able to stow items (tablets/fones/laptops) in the Lshaped shelf next to the seat (the wood area above the 'bench') DURING TAKEOFF/LANDING ??? I havent flown on it yet but I recall QF saying you can...And if not ...can you stow these/such items in the stowage BELOW the 'bench' (the 'shoe' stowage) during takeoff/landing?
cheers.

I keep my laptop there. Although I do believe there is a label saying no stowage for take-off and landing.

I didn't use it but assume you could - there wasn't any signage saying otherwise.

I did use the under-screen stowage to store my handbag with no problems.

please QF(redroo), clarify WHERE we are able to stow LOOSE items(shoes/tablets/fones/laptops/glasses/ etc...) during TAKEOFF/LANDING.....I am not referring to cabin BAGS/HANDBAGS

cough.
My SYD-SIN leg 29th May has just gone from a new config A330-300 to an A330-200 with the split J cabin Mk1 skybed.

My other SYD-SIN legs are holding.

But what is interesting is that all the returns SIN-SYD configs - so night time - are all old Mk1 skybeds when I'd prefer new config to sleep flat.

talk about being bought down to earth with a thud !

checked the seat allocations yesterday , all good still new plane with the suites and 1A was even available !

check tonight - plane has been switched out to an old plane with not even the old beds !

shattering - this is a paid business ticket too cos its a midnight flight and i was hoping for some sleep :(

My SYD-SIN flight in 11 days and the return in April are both on the old config.
I'll keep checking in the hope they switch aircraft at the last minute.

Not trying to rub it in or anything, but more for future information... the QF5/6 rotation is unlikely to see the new config, with the exception of delays to the QF81/82 or 35/36 rotations where it can operate QF5/6 before finding its way (via various means) back to the 35/36/81/12 slots.

its ok ,:p

i have noticed that all my flights out of perth in business to either sydney or melbourne this year have been on an older plane with recliners only - no matter what time of day.

i tend to get the MK1 skybed on the return legs - most of my return flights are late afternoon/early evening.

was just a really nice surprise to see the new config for tonights midnight flight - its my first midnight flight this year so thought it just might have been a timeslot thing.......but guess not (.....thud, lol) :-|:o
