The STUPID Virgin lounge requires you to go through security after the lounge which I wasn't impressed by...

We had an early slot so they wanted to push-back early, which means I was happy I wasn't fluffing around in the lounge.

I'll check it out on Sunday.

I can happily report I was granted access in Sydney with no questions today. She took the Amex card but didn't seem to swipe it - looked like she just did a quick name match against the boarding pass...

Sounds like one of the Virgin reps on here made note of the issue and made sure all lounge staff were correctly informed

The Amex terms and conditions say that you need a same day boarding pass. Does anyone know if this will allow Arrivals access? Anyone tested this?

I know of somebody that was 'flexible' with the truth when applying for a supp card for their LO and had one turn up in the mail.

So MEL doesn't allow plat charge to enter the virgin lounge... Apparently someone tried at SYD and was successful...

Good question. IF there was a Virgin Australia lounge at SYD T1, I could argue we could have lounge access, going by the wording shown in post 52, above.

Also people in MEL are saying they can't access the domestic va loinge with the plat charge...but sydney seems ok.
