American Express Platinum Charge Card enhancement - Virgin Lounge access

Also people in MEL are saying they can't access the domestic va loinge with the plat charge...but sydney seems ok.

Any ideas on other airports in Australia? Anyone tried Brisbane and Perth?

This will be difficult when travelling with spouse who is a supp card holder(and flying Virgin). I suppose they will be counted as a "guest" and not permitted entry. So that in effect is a "No" for the couple!

Try entering separately (a few minutes apart).

According to some other forums the second and third last digit indicate if it is primary or supp. 00 means primary, 01, 02, 03 etc mean supp. However this appears to have exceptions - we have a couple of Amex's where the supp is 00.

The 4 cards I've had have always ended in 2, so I don't believe the last digit represents the number of card reissues.

Not sure if the last digit representing the card reissues or not as my previous plat card ends in 009. My current cent ends in 007. My wife's supplementary cards always end with 01x, and my additional card have 02x.

No it doesn't. It is a check digit calculated through an algorithm so people can't simply make up a credit card number!

The SECOND last digit is usually 0 for primary, but this isn't always true. So apart from that which isn't always accurate, I don't think they can.

Ok thx. So looks like supp holders may enter fine. Just need the wife to enter in a few mins later, but this will be a moot point because I will be taking an infant which won't be allowed in!

I am sup card holder. Last numbers: 011. On 3rd or 4th re-issue. Not that it matters as I won't even use my free flights with Virgin. Too many bad experiences.

Which is correct. The first "01" indicates it is the first supp card. The "1" at the end is a check digit, which has nothing to do with the issue number or anything else, and is calculate with an algorithm so could not be any other number other than "1" because of the combination of all the other numbers on the card.
