AMEX Platinum Charge Benefits - Q&A

Rumour... The reserve $400 TC is disappeared/disappearing??

Where did you heard that from? I can't imagine Amex will do large devaluation like this while we are in the midst of a global pandemic that render most of the perks on the Platinum card useless.

Hmmm - it does seem to have vanished from the info page. If correct, and this isn't grandfathered in to existing holders (or added to Plat Charge), it may end up being a deal breaker for me

Yeah hope so. Grand fathered would make sense

It's all speculation now, but I am not sure whether Amex has the system that allows grandfathered features on its cards. Historically when they make a benefit change, it affected everyone, although the timing might be different for existing customers.

When is the card anniversary date ?
April, I received it April last year and the expiry is April in a few years, i.e. 04/XX.

I can't recall if I received my TC when I received the card last year, or if it happened the following month. Similar to when you pay the annual fee I think you get the TC after it is paid, so I should receive it next month I guess. My statement has been issued, so now I am just waiting to see what happens. However I did check and it is still listed as a benefit when logged in (as written above) and I would expect a mailing of some sort to tell me a feature was being removed, so I'll let you know soon ;)

It seems to be gone from the Platinum Reserve site. Hopefully it's a mistake.

Or do you think Australia will be getting a refresh of benefits for the Platinum like the US is due to get soon?

Well my $400 platinum reserve travel credit expiring in June has now disappeared off the travel booking page !!!

Will give it a few days before I call up...

Figured I'd check mine. Due to expire in March next year and is still showing as available.

So tried online chat and they said it was due to them extending the travel credit expiry to Dec 2020 for those credits that have an expiry between Mar and Jun 2020. They said this would be reflected within 6-10 weeks !! Would've thought it was a simple update of the system to change the date rather than wiping off the credit. Will now have to check periodically to see the travel credit is returned, AMEX systems are suspect at best...

anyone tried an AFR sub for a charge supp holder?
still coming through?

I tried around Easter a few times (waited 3-4wks between tries) and nothing ever came through!
