""""For anyone who's using the Velocity eStore. I recently made a purchase on there which totalled $110 however it gave me 800 points and not the usual 2 points per $1. Not complaining, just hope it might help someone :)"""""""(Quote from prior in thread)

There was a 500 bonus points deal recently - you must have accidentally taken advantage of it. (I got the email, and it was the push that I needed to purchase something from Just Jeans that I wanted)

I'm not the one making the suggestion but in another scenario on a supposedly non-earning flight when I changed the FF reference to an alternate (i.e. I was using USDM miles but flying UA and wanted to choose a seat) you may find you end up getting points. I think the OP is suggesting this may happen if you use your EY FF no.

Another data point, this card pays 2 points per $1 for bookings via agoda.com. Not all booking services class as ‘accommodation’ so chalk up Agoda as a 2-pointer.

Additionally If booked via the velocity portal you’ll receive at least a combined 5 points per $ (up to 8 points per $ for platinum status members).

I've just spent a day ranting via complaint email to the Amex helpdesk after having an Agoda charge declined even though sufficient credit was available. Jammed it through a Qantas Visa card instead, but those QF points are not worth that much to me these days. On the positive side of things, however, I did derive some satisfaction of getting double points on a Jetstar charge through the Velocity card. The explanation for lack of credit related to a payment I had made three weeks ago - that was yet to clear! It was an electronic transfer too. Whatever.

The card also earns 2 ppd at travel agents, so Agoda is probably classified as a travel agent. FWIW I booked on Airbnb and also got 2

I wonder if they classify Lifemiles as a travel agent - Decent points to be had there I would have thought? Anyone experienced or done this?

Anyone know how many points it pays for Uber?
According to a (different) AMEX statement, Uber is classified as Travel & Transport > Taxis & Coach
I suspect it probably will earn 2ppd on this card.

Can confirm its only 1 point per dollar as per my Amex statement.

Thanks. I do remember that when they first started here they were an "overseas" transaction, but my last couple rides have hit my statement as "Uber Sydney"

Has anyone been able to book PER-MEL as their complimentary flight?
I understand it's not in their T&C's or the AMEX interactive map, just want to see if they were able to or not.

Not sure anyone would admit it if they have!
