McDonald's is a restaurant and i can confirm earns 3 points per dollar. Not bad

And, if you had accepted the Amex offer, you would have gotten one $5 cash back on $15 spent for each card one has.
Which is an even better earner. I hope they renew the offer - though I twice tried to use mine over a month period, and twice walked away in disgust as their Coke Zero dispenser wasn't working ( I can't drink sugar drinks and I hate Diet Coke).

Advice please.
Have signed up Mrs V and myself (separately) using one of the AFF referral links and now Master V wants to sign up too. Thought I'd pocket the 20K referral points on offer myself this time by registering myself for referrals using the link:

but when I go to this page I repeatedly get a message "Your session has timed out, please try again".

You can click on the Facebook option and copy the link that is created without having to actually post anything.

If I'm repeating a question previously answered then apologies, but will the spend requirement be met if I pay off my outstanding tax bill with the ATO?

I'm expecting to owe them a couple grand this year, so if I can soften the financial hit with an obscene amount of Velocity points then so much the better

Feeling very disappointed, received my plat card, called up prior to activation just to check I was eligible for bonus and was advised no because I had a David Jones Store card...bugger

OK, a bit confused with the various threads, but here's an update for those wondering if they can get bonus points when already holding a direct AMEX ... the answer is 'yes', in my case.

AMEX is showing that I spent just over $500 on the 80K points offer and those are all showing in my AMEX account. Just looking forward to confirming this in the sweep to VA soon.

Bonus has swept from Amex to my VFF account as a current Amex holder.

The weird thing is the card wont let me make a payment against it as its not yet "due"...
