Hmm. The T&C quoted looks very restrictive. The pictorial view of the city pairs available for the 'free flight' came from current advertising here:

However.....

The advertising also links you to T&C PDF here which you have mentioned above:

and there is no mention of Adelaide or Sydney as destinations from PER in the PDF. The T&C PDF is usually definitive, so this is a real worry. I'll take a snapshot of the route map for later use I think. Be worth getting a backup email from Amex too.

I received an offer in the post today from Virgin for the Amex Velocity Platinum card. It contains much the same as what's on the website, with the addition of 75 SCs

I took out this offer in May. The promo material promised 150SCs. I was happily surprised when 200SCs dumped in my account. Plus 30K points. Very happy.

How long did it take for those status credits to come through after you met the spend requirements? Was just wondering, since my points have come through already but not the status credits yet.

I think it was two months. I carefully managed my spend so that the credits came through in my new status year. It's been a nice boost - I'm 75% toward Plat again with half a year to go

I am still awaiting mine to be credited. The 30k points came the same day I met the threshold of $500 but have not seen the SCs till now.

I applied in mid December for this card (with 150SC/30k promotion). Needed to be approved by 31st December. Heard nothing back from AMEX until today. Approved my application but promotional period had
closed. So I am cancelling the card before it even arrives

Interestingly my letter said 150 sc and 25,000 points but when I was credited the 30,000 points I was hoping I might be one of those lucky to get 200 sc, which would have made a status run for Platinum within reach.. At least Gold is down pat for another year.
