Morning All !

After redeeming a healthy bunch of points recently, I started wondering how big is the account balance of QF points of our community here.

For Comparisons sake, lets talk about just the QF count, not credit cards (doesn't count till they are transferred ha!)

Current Balance : 106,000

I wonder if anyone here has 5 Mill +???

Quite likely someone currently has 5million but not inclined to divulge it. I have certainly managed to burn my way through that many over the years.

Sorry Smit wasn't trying to be offensive. Was just curious do people mainly burn as they go or stash the loot so to speak. :)

Feel free to delete thread mod's if it is deemed in poor taste.

Apologies

Craven your a burner. Id say id be up there with you. Burning away with usually only a few thousand or even hundred in the balance ha !

I have always tended to stash and redeem for family Int J trips but it becoming almost impossible to secure 2 seats these days let alone enough for the family on popular routes...

Last year I was approaching 300k but this year I've booked a few classic awards... overall, the trend is down.

Between Mrs Ansett and I we have just over 1.2 million points doubt we would ever get to 5 million :D

I'm on approx 500k. I'll be burning them on some trips to Europe and the US in 2016.

No point hoarding unless you have a specific purpose in mind. It's not like they earn interest, and they're constantly being devalued :)

Just remember to have the PIN known by your beneficiaries and having too many QF points will not be a problem.

I must say it is a bit tad personal.. but I don't mind saying it as it is not exactly money anyway.. I don't have 5 million points.. I only got around 5 figure sum!! :(

Just remember to have the PIN known by your beneficiaries and having too many QF points will not be a problem.

Great advice as once QF knows you have reached the departure lounge your points can't be transferred

I deliberately maintain my balance at about 300K by making regular redemptions (mainly intl bookings and upgrades). Having too many risks losing out in the inevitable devaluation or similar enhancement.

I would have more sitting in QFF except that I refuse to have direct earn qff cards so now they get zero business.

With Ansett still at the back of my mind, my motto is "earn and burn"...currently have about 300k
