The hotel matches are interesting; the comp levels will be interesting. Within OZ, HH Silver is about the same as ICH Gold and HH Gold about the same as ICH Platinum (although Gold gives guaranteed breakfast and Plat gives gauranteed ... 'points').

So many people say they stay with QFF because they are trapped within it...

A status match, whilst painful at first, literally cuts the knees out from QF for all those people who are saying it...

Well if VA want to throw that much at us for very little, guess it'd be foolish not to milk it for it's worth. I'm in.


I got excited when they said 'guaranteed international reward seats' then only to find out it's only for families. Still, a great benefit and one I know many people who could take advantage of this (now where are all the singles who want to complain that they're being discriminated against?)

I'm locked into QFF currently with stacks of spend points but with 4 trips coming up this deal looking good, if they bump me up from Q SG to V Plat its a done deal.

What is highest earn points card to get?.

If virgin can compete (and its not hard) with Qantas- then I will test Virgin and see what happens.

From Aus BT:

There is a small footnote on the announcement, specifying that members of Virgin's airline partners (Air New Zealand, Delta, Etihad, Singapore Airlines & Virgin Atlantic) will not get a direct status match with Virgin Australia, as they would already have access to equivalent Velocity status through alliance agreements.

Looks like you're out of luck
