It is interesting that it is called "Velocity Frequent Flyer" and not "Velocity Rewards". I thought FF is actually a QF trademark?

Hope not, that might affect a certain website I am a moderator for LOL.

As a current Virgin Gold and Qantas Gold (Ex QF Platinum who now flies both to get both status) I find it a little unfair that a not yet so loyal Platinums are given the status over somebody like me who is a Gold (By flying the miles and probably won't make platinum).

I can't really complain, because it's Virgin's game and they set their own rules. But, I do think by letting any Platinum, Gold and his dog into the program with status might take away a bit exclusiveness.

Totally agree ... My QF status dropped from Platinum to Gold because I've shifted loyalties to Virgin over the past six months (I'm Gold with both now, along with a Star Gold achieved through business flights with SQ). It will really, really, really irritate me if people who've shown Virgin no loyalty stroll in at a higher status than me.

It even irks me more than my previous hate: that the VS SYDLHRSYD in J that I'm doing next month (only booked because of the Velocity connection ... stupidly I didn't realise the status credits were so appalling) will only earn me 130 status credits whereas the SYDLAX (in premium) and LAXNYC (in main cabin select) that I'm doing now earns me 320 credits and was a third of the cost!!!

Nope, just a general term. It is very interesting - Velocity Frequent Flyer works well.

I am of a similiar mind - I have flown almost exclusively with VA and to see a WP be status matched is annoying, especially since a lot of them are whinging snobs.

That being said, it's really inevitable. VA needs to try and steal as many QF customers as it can. Status match is one way to go.

No mention of Lifetime Status, is the only thing missing from this...

Still it would be good to match my Asiana Diamond or AAdvantage Platinum, otherwise. Where's the link / e-mail / form?

I wonder if there is any change coming to shopandearn as well. It has been down since last night for "scheduled maintenance"...

More partners:

Virgin Australia has also added a range of new partners to the program as the company is particularly aware
of how important it is for our members to be able to earn Points for their everyday spending. Velocity now has
Australia’s broadest range of credit cards, the largest range of car hire partners and will soon introduce Points
earn on electricity with Lumo Energy, one of Australia's largest electricity suppliers. Virgin Australia have also
brought on Westfield.com.au as an Online Mall partner, meaning Velocity will have the widest retail offering
with the ability to earn and redeem Points online with retailers in Australia and overseas.
The new program goes live around Australia today, with most benefits available immediately.

I was at over 1000 SC just 3 weeks ago and have dropped to 857 - going to have to work hard to get over the 1000 again in the next month.

Complimentary hotel membership offer now in your profile.

HHonors Gold for DJ Gold - Very nice!
