Is there a due date for the status match offer to finish? Or it is going to be an ongoing thing? (I could not see the end date of status match).

Matching will be done for a limited time. (Suggest doing it sooner rather than later! )

Any Velocity status awarded under this Promotion will remain valid for a period of 12 months from the date of upgrade, after which time the usual Velocity Member Terms and Conditions will apply.

I have DJ Gold until Dec 2012 - I could apply for WP status match but if I did not re-qualify that would expire in September 2012.

I am of a similiar mind - I have flown almost exclusively with VA and to see a WP be status matched is annoying, especially since a lot of them are whinging snobs.

With 4,000 QF Status Credits earned in the past 12 months - a Platinum match is the ONLY way DJ have any chance at getting a tiny piece of my business. Good on you Virgin Australia you've done well!! We might be seeing more of each other in the future

Snobbery? QF Platinums fly at least twice as much AND on more expensive airfares than DJ Golds. With double the spend of a DJ Gold I would expect positive discrimination as a Platinum (thanks Keith!).

It is written into the T&C's that if you fail to meet the requal, you are dropped to the next lower level:

8.11 Members will only be downgraded one Membership Level at a time.

Partner gold/ plat is a great benefit. Im on 1497 SCs and flying to HBA tonight, so my wife will be gold in her own right by the time we come back on tuesday. Nice. Also gives ne a reason to shoot for 2000!

WOW - some questions for VA

So, I assume that the 4 free upgrades (per year) from FLEXI for Platinum are confirmed on the phone after booking, is there anyway to see prior to making a FLEXI booking if upgrades will be available for that sector? (i.e. like on Qantas, where you do a dummy award booking and if there is J seats availability, you buy the economy ticket and then 15minutes later you can confirm the upgrade.)

And with Fly Ahead, is that a confirmed seat or standby, and is this requested at the lounge, gate, check-in or service desk?

And finally the lounges passes at every 100 status credits, do these simply show up (automatically as earned) in your account in the same way that the paid passes do? (I really like that idea for the odd occasion when I am travelling with a group of people.)

Overall very impressive, I will certainly need to rethink my 2012 gold+gold strategy.

You would EXPECT it from qantas because that's who you spent all that money with. You should never EXPECT it from anyone else.

There goes one of the great unwritten benefits of velocity - a very low w***er quota. Fortunately the upside looks worth it

I would not be surprised if QFF are/were watching Velocity's movements far more closely than any of the members here.
