Yes, they match against what the determine are equivalent levels:

Terms and conditions:
Velocity Status Match Promotion (“Promotion”) is valid to Australian residents over the age of 18 only. To be eligible for the Promotion
the applicant must be or become a Velocity member and send to [email protected] their valid Velocity
membership number along with a legible copy of their frequent flyer membership card (or most recent monthly statement) that
clearly shows their current elite status level and expiry date. This Promotion does not apply to non-airline loyalty programs. Your
frequent flyer status will be mapped to the most similar status tier within the Velocity program (Velocity Silver, Velocity Gold or
Velocity Platinum) as determined by Velocity at its absolute discretion. Any Velocity status awarded under this Promotion will remain
valid for a period of 12 months from the date of upgrade, after which time the usual Velocity Member Terms and Conditions will
apply. Only applications submitted via the approved application process will be eligible for consideration. The Promotion is capped
and for a limited time and Velocity reserves the right to retract the offer at any time at its absolute discretion. Membership of Velocity
is subject to the Member Terms & Conditions Velocity is operated by Velocity Rewards Pty Ltd as trustee of the Loyalty Trust.
This promotion matches program status but does not match the number of frequent flyer points held in the respective programs.

Hey, who killed my Platinum thread? Don't you think it would be good to have a place solely to discuss the Platinum benefits?
 
Already sent off a status match request. We'll see what they match with and how long it takes.

Actually I agree with you and LiamR, it is hard on those that have been loyal to DJ/VA, but it would be hard for WP's to switch if there were no perks. VA appear to want the very customers QF don't seem to care about.

I'll only take the status match if I know I can maintain WP. It is very tempting though. :)

Is there a due date for the status match offer to finish? Or it is going to be an ongoing thing? (I could not see the end date of status match).

I did, please keep it within this forum at this stage as its already been discussed here, it will be reviewed as time goes by.
 
Looks good, but i'm disappointed points upgrade is only on virgin australia, pol blue and pac blue...

What about vaustralia? other airlines?

Is this something that will be added later?
 
YEAH.. Although my account is showing Gold i just called and it was confirmed I will be upgraded to Platinum.
Rolling points has me well over the line for the last 12 months.

Bring me my NEW card and update my log in to Platinum NOW PLEASE

It says there are capacity constraints and they can end the offer whenever they choose. So get in quick.

Hopefully not the quoted 4 weeks maximum, I've got a trip to the US in 3 weeks and I'd like to have my PC Plat in place for the free room upgrade ;)
