So we arrived SYD 42 mins early, taxied to apron and here we are waiting; 50 mins so far ( plane at gate has ‘loading issues’). Aircon not functioning much . Some pleas for toilet from J pax after about 20 mins. Pleas for the pilots via the 2 crew up front to get aircon going ( engines are running). Pax getting very antsy. Never heard actual shouting from J before! Not me! .#

Aircon came on after ~40 mins - pilot said “ I understand it’s getting a bit warm back there so I’ve turned the air conditioning on” as if it was a favour .

There was a blithe announcement from the Cabin crew upfront who proclaimed that no connections were in danger. By the reaction in the Cabin that didn’t really appear to be true and we were still sitting on the apron.

# yes, they should’ve planned ahead but given that the initial forecast of a wait was 25 minutes and we were with 5 mins of the gate when we stopped I don’t think it would be totally unreasonable for them to turn the seatbelt off for say 15 minutes for some quick toilet runs.

We had a leisurely breakfast at Chuffed which I can highly recommend. At noon security at AKL was a zoo. And the Strata lounge was turning away PP pax as they were busy.
