Another 50% SC promo

Our 50% bonus SCs are still to post from September flight. Apparently it's complicated because we used a gift voucher to pay for part of the flights and this confuses the monthly sweep of status updates. Have discussed with QF and waiting for manual credits.

Ah, I used a gift voucher for part payment, also - didn't realise that was going to complicate things.

Somewhat confused and hope for some confirmation of the T&Cs,
I received a book within 7 days 50% SC promo.. If after booking domestic flexi flights I need to change the flight date by +/- a couple of days am I still eligible for the 50% bonus.
When changing a booking the same PNR sticks so I wouldn't have thought so.

What do the terms and conditions of your offer say?

Previous terms I've seen have voided the bonus status credits if changes are made to the qualifying flight.

After about 18months whereby I was flying virtually every week, took a three week break in the UK. Lo and behold: after 2 weeks I get this offer drop into my inbox - coincidence?

Regards,

BD

I'm in this predicament and it really upsets me. If you comply with the spirit of it, why should it void the offer?

Last time i changed the flight (by one day) it did void the Bonus offer. Taught me to read the small print!

The answer was in the small print, fair enough for discount economy a bit harsh on J or full Y in my biased opinion.

Our flights (we both were offered the 50% bonus) were out and back early in Oct. Still no bonus points, and as the small print states "can take up to six weeks for points to post" I left it for six and a half weeks. When I rang to see if there was a problem, I was told I definitely qualified and points were due. I was told it can take "6 to 8 weeks" and to ring back in two weeks time if no points posted. Suspect I should have used the HUACA, but I will be patient and wait.
They did eventually but not until I had made a few phone calls and enquiries a bit further up the food chain at QF. Manually credited after 6 weeks eventually.

Don't know if it had anything to do with it, but for the first time in about a year I had no future bookings showing and up popped a 50% bonus email today for bookings made in the next 7 days. Time to get down to planning a couple of trips.

No. I suggest you need to be proactive. It took three phone calls then off air conversations with a 'supervisor' for it to be agreed and manually updated. SCs appeared one day later, today ( outward flight Sep 25).

Geeeez,, now I'm wondering if putting in for a points upgrade (10K points) Mel-Per is defined as changing the booking ??

No it isn't kaboy. You should get 50% additional status credits on your original booking and nothing from the 10,000 point upgrade (other than the nicer service/seat/everything else).

I've taken your advice on this - I'm on 6 weeks and the bonus SC still haven't posted and the agent that took my call today was very reluctant to log a case, stating that it can take 6-8 weeks. I had to insist that an email be sent today to have the matter looked at because the email offer I received stated "up to 6 weeks". I'm a little annoyed that he was argumentative about it - if I ask politely and it's in the T&Cs, then there should be no resistance to send an email to request a follow-up. Sheesh!

In such cases, just politely ask to speak to a supervisor, and/or call back until you get a more reasonable person.

Is this a public offer? I'm about to book an overseas trip and ending up with 300 instead of 200 SCs would be a bit awesome ;)

No. These are targeted. You have to receive the personal email then register to qualify.

Well Altair, you were on the money. After another phone call yesterday (8 and 7 weeks since the flights) I had excellent service with the very helpful gentleman phoning back today to tell me that the points had been credited. You were quite correct, they were credited to the year flown, not this "status" year. Do you recall how the reversed comped year shows up in the statement? Thanks
IME.
1) Bonus points will count for the year flown, eg in the previous year not in the year posted, so basically for you they will only benefit Lifetime status and possibly trigger a Loyalty Bonus
2) The comped year is currently triggered but once everything settles you will have it reversed, as I had this happen 4 years in a row. Of course when I wished to be comped I only had 400SC for the year so no go and down to SG:(
