So after an email to QFF about the missing 'bonus' SC a couple of days ago, today I received 3 phone calls from two different staff at QFF. First one to confirm that I had in fact registered and asked me to send a screenshot - I was at work so I said I would do it when I got home this evening. Second call was received just after I had returned home (no chance to send the screenshot yet) and the QFF staffer said something along the lines of "we've considered your claim and, even though you didn't register we will grant the bonus SC as a gesture of goodwill".
I responded that I had just arrived home and would send the screenshot showing I *had* registered in the next hour or so. QFF's response was, "no need, we can see you booked these flights during the promo period and travelled as required, so we will grant the bonus SCs. However, you should note that this is a *ONE TIME ONLY GOODWILL GESTURE* and next time we won't be able to do this." I replied that, actually, I *had* registered and would willingly send the screenshot to prove it, goodwill was not required on this occasion.
But the QFF staffer would not be swayed - the goodwill SC had already been posted and I had used up my "goodwill" opportunity. The agent seemed a little put off that I wasn't gushing thanks for her heroic intervention on my behalf. Am I being unreasonable, this doesn't seem right - there was no goodwill required, why am I suddenly indebted to QFF for some glitch in their system which didn't record the rego ?
To clarify, I am thankful for the bonus SC offer - but the long wait for bonus to post, and the need to follow-up, and the way it was handled... all leaves me thinking that paying the QF fare (instead of the cheaper option), just to earn a few measly bonus SC, really isn't worth the bother (particularly as I had already easily re-qualified WP for the year).
