Accepted this offer for my husband a week ago . Got my husband to ring and ask if there's any chance of getting it activated before we fly out on the 8th of June but was told No it will take at least 4 weeks

Well that will throw a spanner in the works :( Needed my card before flying out.... Wonder if Delta accepts logging on to Velocity to show status?

Have you got the VA app?

I have the Virgin Australia app, but it shows nothing about status or your Velocity account, the Velocity Global Wallet account wont work as I didnt activate Global wallet.

Umm yes it does it gives you a digital membership card.

I must have missed something then I have the only Virgin Australia app I can find available, which is the flight specials and I cant find any tab for membership card there.
Is there another app?

arrrrghhh - I got the offer too but didn't respond in time (was travelling). I'm Qantas WP/LTG and I am travelling next month to Europe for business on Qatar with VA domestically (I class Qatar, D Class VA).

Two questions -

Is there any point in ringing VA and asking for the offer (or a status match)? Doesn't matter for this trip as it is business class so I get lounge access but I have a few more trips on the cards in the next 12 months and the upcoming trip would have earnt the required 80 status credits next month.

I've put my QFF number on the booking and I am a bit nervous that if I put my Velocity number on as well, it will wipe out the QFF benefits - there is one TA booking reference and two separate booking nos for the VA and the Qatar flights. Does this mean that both will be used without confusion?

Thanks for any experience.

You don't need the offer. Qatar are a oneworld airline and Qantas platinum trumps VA gold. If you're in business for the domestic flights you will get lounge access. All you're missing are gold bonus points from VA.

maybe you can add your velocity number to the Virgin Australia booking reference. But might be better to do a missing points claim after the flight.

Nope I am waiting as well. Offer landed in my inbox last Thursday. I applied immediately. Am still waiting.

My wife received the same offer when they ran it late last year (she also received it again this time either though she successfully became a full gold lol as others have noted). At the time, I remember it taking a few days, but not longer than a week.
This offer closed on Sunday night, so am hoping by say Friday, we'll be in business.
Took a little longer than I was expecting, but Explore Gold status came through today :)

Just wanted to add that initially I thought the invitation was because of my QFF WP status but reading through the thread it clearly isn't targeted. As a life time gold on QF, I am in the position to try VA with a good offer such as this one so that I have flexibility in the coming year (travelling at least four times long haul internationally for work and for pleasure). That is why I am sorry I missed it.

Did you get an email or has it just appeared on the Velocity website? I signed up Saturday and still waiting. Got a flight this Saturday so hoping it comes through!

I'm in exactly the same situation with a flight on Saturday. I wonder if there is an option to contact Velocity?

Theres a full VA app that shows status, points balance, flight bookings etc.

It's called Virgin Australia, but only available on iPhone apparently.

Hrrmmm... :( Thank you for looking, at least I am not going completely blind! Kind of bad that they only cater to iPhones when there are so many Android phones.

Status came through yesterday and email received today.

I'm still waiting, but seeing status come through for others (finally!) is giving me hope it'll be my turn soon :)
