Dunno about favourite. I was besotted with them all! As well as the cute little chinstraps, I loved the Kings and their wooly babies, the Adelie quizzical looks and the antics of the Gentoos. Hard to pick a real favourite. :p
Love the gorgeous blue ice. The cloud is stunning.

Your seals are cute! We had mainly Elephant seals though the fur seal males had started to come ashore. We were warned to give them a wide berth as the testosterone fueled males were particularly nasty.
yes this one was getting a bit cranky at getting his photo taken and went huffing off. I love the blue ice - we saw heaps of it once we got to the peninsula - just fell in love :)

On our second day we landed at Brown Bluff on the Peninsula and then in the afternoon did a Zodiac cruise around Hope Bay. Normally we would have landed at the Argentinian Base for a visit, but they were in the middle of exchanging personnel so it was off limits.

Brown Bluff saw our introduction to Adelie Penguins. Just loved them - silly as a wheel. They reminded me of wildebeest. You would see a whole mass of them going to the water and start to jump in, then one would balk and turn around and all the others would follow :)20190109- Ant-201-Edit.jpg 20190109- Ant-208.jpg 20190109- Ant-567.jpg 20190109- Ant-827.jpg

These are from Le Dame - the Chateaux and Relais restaurant, which had a small surcharge. The food was a bit nicer than the main restaurant, but I mainly liked it because of the more intimate feel. This was the only restaurant where a jacket was required and although most people dressed up a little, there were certainly a few men without jackets and very casual partners (as Mr FM and SIL constantly pointed out).

We generally avoid afternoon tea as well.much too tempting so when onboard at afternoon tea time we have a coffee in our room with the butler always having to be reminded not to bring any food!.
