ANZ Black Lounge Access

No access to Indonesian domestic lounges either as expected (LOM) - I saw the sign below and thought I'd give it a try. It had to be a domestic card. $7.50 cash entry if desired so no huge loss. CGK international lounge access was straightforward, with the Premier Lounge having wi-fi, hot food, snacks, spirits and beer on tap.

Stopped in a few places recently on a trip on *A business class so had access to the lounges provided but thought I would duck out and try this card at a few of the lounges listed on the the ANZ Veloce lounge access web link..

Bangkok - The Miracle by Louis’ Tavern - Was able to get access but was told it was only for the card holder so no guest, decent little lounge...

Seoul - Hub Lounge - Was told that they had just recently become a lounge requiring paid access, I think with this card I could have gotten discounted access but already had the *A lounge so didn't bother...

Joburg - Shongololo Lounge - Had been here before but again, decent little lounge, some hot food and food in packages like sushi and burgers, couple of showers...

When I write up the trip will include some photos of these lounges I was able to get into as well...

Just a quick heads up on the Singapore lounges in T1 and T3 - Dnata has removed ANZ clients from accessing the lounges as of the 1st January.

FYI they are still listed on the ANZ Lounge list, however this is obviously now outdated and needs updating.

damn! was going to use them for a shower mid next year before using SQ gold lounge

That is a shame, they weren't too bad lounges (at least one of them that I tried), have you messaged ANZ telling them to update the online listing ASAP??

Edit: I've sent them through a message, but if you're travelling and find these a note to ANZ would be useful, I'll see what response I get in terms of what they think their responsibility is to keep this list updated and how much effort they will put into it...

I may offer to travel the world on their behalf (and on their budget) to personally check and keep tabs... :)

Goodluck, I was there late December on 3 separate occasions fine with no issues and then on the 04th Jan, guess the dirty look on my face after they refused entry. I was straight on the phone with ANZ, and ANZ had no idea about the change. I instructed them to call the lounge and request my access, but the lounge didn't budge even on ANZ's request.
At that point I did remind them to update their Lounge list, and I sent a further reminder via email. I guess their IT department is still on xmas leave?

Felt more like Dnata was pulling the pin and not ANZ? Dnata also pulled Citibank client access. Perhaps not enough $ in it for them?

FYI Lounge T&Cs

9. Participating Lounges may be added or removed at any time. You should
always check anz.com for a current list.

Hi everyone, just thought I would answer a part of your topic question as I am currently at KL international & have just been turned away from the plaza premium lounge as I am told they are currently "in dispute" with the banks & no longer accepting bank cards (including Anz rewards black) it is pretty annoying as the card costs a lot & feel as if this is false advertising. If anyone else gets the same then let me know ;)

If the lounge is still listed on the ANZ website (which I'm guessing it is) I would contact ANZ and ask for a partial refund of your annual fee. Or even save up your receipts for food and drink in the terminal and ask them to credit that amount to your card. I have no issue with the list of available lounges changing from time to time but you can't do it overnight, with no notice, and expect people to sit back and take it.

Hi

Went to Abu dhabi on 3-4 january 2014

Rejected from Al Reem and Abu dhabi Lounge.

Checked the lounge listing 3 days later, their name still included

Hmm... I'd considered holding onto this card for the lounge access. Maybe that's not really worth it. At least priority pass is reliable

This page suggests ANZ Singapore cards have had their lounge access cut. Maybe lounge agents are not differentiating Australian cards?

ANZ Travel Visa Signature Credit Card Review – Updated | FlyStayTravel

[h=4]Update – January 2015[/h]In 2014 ANZ added Veloce lounges as their unlimited access lounge partner. This was fantastic and gave access to some great lounges in both KLIA and Changi Airport. As of January 2015 the list of lounges in KLIA and Changi Airport has been reduced drastically both in terms of quantity and quality. For example at Changi you were able to access the Skyview lounge probably the best 3rd Party lounge in Changi, this is no longer the case. So at Changi Airport there are now only two options:
  • Terminal 1 – Airport Wellness Oasis – Singapore Int’l Airport
  • Terminal 3 – Ambassador Transit Lounge
There are now no options in KLIA at all. To find what lounges you’ll have access to check out this page on the Veloce website and enter your card details, only then will you get your actual access.

Wow....this is pretty disgraceful in my opinion.

I'd find a paid lounge and request ANZ reimburse me.

I think it's worth taking a note of these lounge denials. The upside is it could be a valuable negotiating tool when it comes to renewing the card and its hefty fee.

Last week while waiting for check in to open at Narita for QF 22 I discovered the landslide Veloce lounge which was fine to pass an hour. A very basic lounge but got a drink and wifi so handy if you arrive at the airport early before check in opens.

My husband has an ANZ Black card and we are looking to use it for lounge access. I have an additional card. Do I need to activate the card before I can use it for lounge access?
