ANZ Black Lounge Access

Not sure where to post this but I guess someone will find it....Hubby and I are taking our 2 teenagers to UK to see family leaving 5[SUP]th[/SUP] April stopovers in SING & ABD. Only other time we’ve flown international is 12 yrs ago. Thought I was doing well getting an ANZ black for the QP and Veloce passes well in advance. So happens that we booked Etihad and neither are any good to us for this trip as we're in the wrong terminal apparently. can someone confirm this? So our ANZ is useless for this trip, except if we need the travel insurance hopefully not. To top it off, they’ve changed one flight from A380 to 777 at this stage. (feral teenagers all round) I constantly scan AFF for info and have found it wonderful so far. Any advice for this trip would be appreciated by this newby.

If I've deduced correctly, you're not flying with QF anyway so you actually fall at the first hurdle.

QF lounge passes are only valid when travelling on QF or JQ or, worse case, on a QF-marketed flight. EY flights are a no-go, always.

Some more info would be handy. xx_ to SIN to AUH with Etihad? I can see Singapore lounge access with ANZ in terminals 1 and 3, and in terminals 1 and 2 in AUH - link but don't know what terminals you fly into/out of. ANZ will get you into lounge at SYD as I understand and not tested, pretty sure passes no good in AUH where you will be in terminal 3.

5.4.15 EY473 BNE AUH EY11 AUH LHR
23.4.15 EY18 LHR AUH EY470 AUH BNE
From what I can see, LHR would be the only terminal we could use Veloce lounges pass.

Given that you have about 2:45 layover in AUH you should have sufficient to visit the T1 lounges as the two terminal are connected (albeit i think its a landside connection).

If you did that I'd go to the Al Reem Lounge T1 as its been recently refurbished.

thanks for your help - excuse ignorance, but can I access T1 if its only a stopover? haven't flown for years and never UAE so not sure about security etc between these terminals. explain landside connection for me.

Has anyone successfully used their Veloce access recently? noticed the banks/lounge dispute and refusal mentioned earlier this post.

Just back from a six flight, 15 day trip around SE Asia. Used the ANZ Black Lounge access twice.

SIN - small, basic facility. Free fish spa if you are interested. Basic food - help yourself fridge of softdrinks. Toilets are the public ones just outside. Best feature - great shower after a hot morning walking around town (and after coming in on a red eye). Lounge includes a paid spa, massage, etc area for various treatments.

DPS - upstairs in the new departure area - you can see it but it took a while to figure out how to get there - there is a temporary sign "JAS Premium Lounge" and you either use the small lift or the rather rickety temporary stairs. Lounge was almost deserted - as you would expect at 5.30am. Large space, nice fit out. Some lukewarm chicken sausages and potatoes. Some OK pastries, but I raided the fruit. Decent coffee machine. Help yourself fridge of softdrinks. Bathroom but I didn't see any showers.

In both cases it beats being outside in the general terminal area. I don't recall seeing alcohol being offered in either - not that I was looking for it. And I put amazing value in free wi-fi these days!!:)

There is a single shower in the bathroom. Looked very unappealing.

How are the showers in sin? Also by paid spa, meaning you have to pay to get them? Or included?

The paid spa and the lounge share the same space. As an ANZ Black card holder you don't need to pay to use the shower.

The spa has several small massage rooms and you get to use one of the en-suite showers attached to each of the rooms, i.e. you use the massage room to undress, step into the shower, and then dry off and dress again in the massage room. The room had a lock and was quite private.

When you want to shower just ask and they provide a towel and show you to an available room.

Has anyone got a before and after pdf so that we can use it to argue for a fee reduction or something. Say from mid to late last year or whenever it's best to prove the point.

And, has anyone had any luck getting a reduction or reimbursement?

I'm currently in the AKL lounge. Easy process for entry, gave our 2 cards, was asked for boarding passes; then was supplied with the wifi details without asking.

The original list contained 65 lounges. The current list contains 60.

So a 7.7% reduction..

Has anyone been to the lounges in Heathrow? I've been to Gatwick a few times and have never been able to get in for South Terminal. First it was closed and now I don't think it exists anymore. For Heathrow I'm flying out of Terminal 2 but the lounges are in Terminals 1, 3, 4 and I'm trying to work out if it is worth the trouble...

Swiped the cards for us each time we've been to separate locations (all 2 are listed in previous pages).

Not only just in HK. apparently the one in Taiwan is longer available as well. According to the staff (dont mark my words) Veloce contract only signs till 30/06/15
