Re: Ho Chi Minh International - CIP Apricot Lounge

Hmm, I thought you could only get into the Ambassador lounge in T2 in Singapore...
When I went through in July this year, they swiped the card and that was it. I don't think the machine does any form of validation apart from to check the BIN.
Nothing appeared on my statement or anywhere afterwards...

The Veloce lounge website says Ambassador Lounge is in T3.
Actually, where it has T2 - Haven by JetQuay - It says "Coming Soon".

Re: Ho Chi Minh International - CIP Apricot Lounge

Does anyone have recent experience with whether you can take a guest in to the lounge at LGW? I have Priority Pass if I can't guest into the Aspire lounge but would rather use the free entry if I can.

I haven't got this card yet, its on its way, but reading the blurb gave me the impression that lounge access is only for the card holder - additional guests may enter but will have to pay some fee. The lounge user needs to have a card name which matches the airline ticket name apparently. I wonder if one could get around that with a supplementary card?

Re: Ho Chi Minh International - CIP Apricot Lounge

Hi All. I cancelled my ANZ Black card in August this year (although not expired until 2016) as I didn't want the huge $425 annual card fee... however I took the card to Europe with me last month and tried to access a few lounges. Here was the outcome:

Amex Lounge (SYD)

I thought I'd try my luck and was surprised when the lounge attendant scanned my card, gave me a receipt and let me and a guest in.
Was relatively quiet (was there from 2-3pm) and they still had their lunch menu going (quiche, base fish curry and rice, sausage rolls, party pies, salad, etc). Also had friendly staff behind the bar so could get a G&T and glass of bubbles. I did like the fact the lady on the front desk reminded me to take a bottle of water from the fridge to take on the plane. There were also potato chips and sandwiches which would be good for those flying Scoot or AirAsia

Al Dhabi / Al Reem Lounge (AUH)

No luck here. The lounge attendant said they no longer accept ANZ cards from Australia and that their partnership was with LoungeKey (I couldn't find much information about these guys!). Looking on the Veloce website it shows that there is no lounge access available but they do provide a free 30 min spa at TOSA spa and free food at Montreux Jazz Café which is in Terminal 3 after passport control. On Veloce website - Identify yourself as a Véloce customer. Present your eligible card or e-voucher to the restaurant’s staff to verify eligibility. Once verified, you’ll be presented with a special à la carte Véloce-menu, whereby you’ll be able to choose from a variety of delicious multicourse meals, with a soft drink or a coffee if you prefer

Milan - Sala Montale Milano Lounge
Didn't have time to try this one

Prague - Menzies Lounge
Wow this lounge was a shocker. Was originally told by the lounge attendant that I had to go to the other lounge which could have been the Priority Pass / CSA Crystal Lounge. Was then told to go back to the Menzies lounge. After a 5 minute argument and showing her the veloce website I was let in with my guest. No hot food. Only pre-packaged croissants that were semi stale. Coffee machine was very slow and water was only in big 1.5L bottles. They did have local wine and spirits. Didn't stay very long in here!

I fortunately got Velocity Gold from this point so I was able to access the AirBerlin waiting area in Dusseldorf and the Al Reem lounge in Abu Dhabi.

Moral of the story is - if your card is still valid but you have cancelled it, still use it for lounge access (it does work!)

Re: Ho Chi Minh International - CIP Apricot Lounge

Anyone had any luck at BKK Suvarnabhumi? Typing in the first few numbers of my card indicates there are 4 Louis Tavern CIP lounges that I should be able to access. My partner has a supp card, and we will have a friend with us. Hoping for access for at least myself and my partner - but given this thread I am not hopeful!

I'm thinking of getting a sup card for my mrs to (presumably) allow her access to the small list of lounges - its a scenario not covered by the FAQ but I assume they'd allow it given that her name would be on the card and it would match her boarding pass.

I wonder if calling the concierge number on the back of the card would help if being refused by a lounge that should, given web site statement, let you in?

Re: Ho Chi Minh International - CIP Apricot Lounge

Just got told that it is no longer accepted in the JAS Lounge in Bali. Disappointed.

Said the change happened yesterday!

This card access is getting worse and worse, sounds like barely any lounges left. Does anyone have access to a current list of lounges? The Veloce website is no good as I don't have a card number to preview list.
Anyone had a go at ANZ about the unreliability of benefits?

Thanks.

7 out of 30 Listed Lounges in Asia are listed as Temporary Unavailable including Bali, Jakarta, Bangkok x3.

Re: Ho Chi Minh International - CIP Apricot Lounge

I called ANZ today.....they didn't care.....

What can you do? Ill get the minimum spend i guess, pay the card off and cancel it.

Re: Ho Chi Minh International - CIP Apricot Lounge

After the Manchester debacle, where the wife and I were refused entry. I email ANZ about it and got no reply, rang and got I can't answer that.

Re: Ho Chi Minh International - CIP Apricot Lounge

ANZ have seriously lost the plot, and the reason why i have been moving my accounts away from them.

They closed my local ATM, and told us they were moving it to a different part of the shopping center, 18 months later still haven't installed.

Upon speaking to customer service they suggested I use other ones in the area, sure I am going to drive a 30 minute round trip to access my accounts.

Re: Ho Chi Minh International - CIP Apricot Lounge

veloce took off taiwan from the asia list. the lounge in taiwan was a nice lounge thou

FYI. Looked up the Veloce lounge at Don Muang airport and there was one listed on the website. Went to the lounge and they said we have not had the partnership since Sept 2015. Went to the Veloce lng in SIN and they would not let my travel companion in with me one card = one person. They did recognise the card though.

My untried suspicion is that gaining a companion card would probably get you through this hurdle. I doubt they swipe the card and get external authorisation or anything ... but anything is possible I suppose.

Damn this was the exact question I was about to ask. Flying through Singapore next week and was wondering if I could get my wife and I in with my 1 card. Don't have a companion card and too late to order one now. Damn.

I have the combo, one Amex and one Mastercard, can I use one and my hubby the other? Has anyone tried that one?

Same.
I rang up and cancelled the ANZ Black card last month, and they said "rightio" and cancelled it. The lady did not even ask why, even though I had the card for about 10 years.
I assumed that they would flick it to the retention dept, but the account disappeared within a couple of hours to a day from internet bankiing, and thats it. I was actually disappointed that I didnt get to have a whine.

In December I attempted to enter the lounge at DPS international, I forgot the name but there is only one, and the staff said it didnt work when I presented the ANZ black card.
I didnt really care much, because I also had a Priority Pass card and that got me in, and I knew I was going to cancel the ANZ card anyway.
