Credit Card Offers ANZ Frequent Flyer Black: 130,000 Qantas Points + $200 back

Hi all
Newbie here

Just checked on ANZ site and seems like the 100k points and $250 cash back (that's what I am pretty sure it was?!?!?) has been downgraded to 90k points and $200 cash back. :(

Yeah lots of devaluations happening in the credit card space.

anyone had any recent application experience with this one? looking for my next churner, just wanting any recent experience feedback, as my last experience with ANZ CC was several years ago but from memory wasn't a great one.

(excellent credit score 1000+, $140k+ FT salary, no major debts or dependents..)
I was approved for this ANZ Black card month or so ago. Am slightly less qualified then your figures and was no sweat, easy peasy, hassle free.

Hadn't had an ANZ card for 2 years and do churn few cards a year.

Bonus points to drop next week.

In the bag for you I'd say.

Need more info than the above (pre-edit) to be able to say for sure but provided not a crazy amount of existing credit I doubt it will an issue. I was approved for this a month ago and it was straight forward. This is the 6th time I’ve held this specific card in the last 10 years. Have also held other ANZ cards during this time.

I applied for this card on saturday and approved on monday in march 2024. 4th time i have held in the past 5 years. I submitted payslips via email and also via their portal, before being asked to do so.

For how long one must hold on to this card after the first wave of bonus sign-up points have been credited?

Do the lounge passes only turn up in your account after the sign-up bonuses have been credited to your account?

You need to ring to request the lounge passes.

Oh, that's news to me. Thanks. The other cards I've had just get them added to your account.
Yep with ANZ call the "card concierge". 1300 580 765, they will organise passes that will appear in QF account after 2-3 days.

The you need to diarise 365 days later to call them again for next set.

Hmm. Didn’t get the signup bonus in the first statement after meeting the required spend (or the annual fee cashback). ANZ generally does it the first month after meeting the spend, don’t they?

Yes. When a credit card bonus doesn’t go through on the first statement it generally means there is a problem but they won’t look at it until after the 90 days or whatever they say in the T&Cs. Then you’ll have to argue your case.

Annoying. I wanted to cancel it. Bit strange it didn’t work. Well over the 12 month exclusion period.

I have this ANZ black card and hit the spend in the 2nd month, received the 100k points & $250 cash back within few days apart. Cashback 1st.

1st statement period was listed as 30days on the statement, but I only had the card for 2 of those weeks. Seemed little odd, hence me not making the spend req in 1st month.

A further data point:
Met the $5k spend requirement in the 1st statement period. I’m about 10 days into the 2nd statement and I notice the 100k bonus pts has shown up to be transferred at the end of the period. Cash back yet to appear.

out of curiosity, has anyone kept this card open for year #2, waited for second bonus points and then cancelled and called for pro rate refund? And if so, what refund (if any) did you get?

I don't think there's pro-rated refunds of annual fees anymore (if ever it's been offered - certainly not in my 6 years of doing the CC churning game) - otherwise they'd be giving 95% of cardholders refunds after they cancel once points have been issued.

I closed my ANZ Qantas Platinum card in Jan after my sign-up bonus points were awarded and haven't received a refund of my annual fee, nor would I expect one.

Pro-rata was on the table and offered for nab signature cards until very recently.
Very much documented here on AFF under NAB cards.
Used it twice myself as many did here, hence it not continuing.
