Oh, I once did supply payslips to ANZ for a different card application. They managed to make that painful as well! I had recently had a child and work provides 18 weeks paid paternity leave. So I took it flexibly with all of January off and the rest by working 4-day weeks. Loved it, almost worth having another kid for it.
I digress. ANZ assessor saw on my payslip that I was taking parental leave. They requested a letter from my employer's HR/payroll department confirming that I would "return to full time work after parental leave." It made no sense to me. Even if I were to stay 4 days and take a 20% pay cut, I would still be over twice the minimum income requirement. And what's to stop me from leaving the job anyway?
I just don't understand these people.
