Correct me if I'm wrong but with ANZ Black Plat. Rewards Card get 3 points per $1 then get 1000 CX points per $3000 spent?, so $1 = 1 point.

Was at ANZ today asked about the new black rewards card said sure as your already a ANZ Plat your automatically approved, doesn't sound right to me.

You mean the ANZ rewards balk AMEX card? It earns 3 ANZ points which is 1 CX/SQ point.

They are probably right, all you need to do is swap the card in your ANZ online banking. You won't pick up any bonus points this way though!

I called last week and was told BF would cover the annual fee then I applied today and was told BF wouldn't pay for it????

Was told that it is under review for the annual fee to be covered by BF, and is a matter of time.. Just like CBA Diamond took awhile to be accepted under their package. Although I haven't tried online change over as suggested by Zainman. Overall it sounds like abit of confusion on ANZ part.

I spoke to someone on the phone and they told me it was and then i tried Zainmans online change and it was bounced back saying it was not included in BF. I am going to give them a call tomorrow and hopefully get an Australian sounding person who can make sense of it for me. Will let you know how i go.

Ok now they are telling me the black rewards is included but the black Qantas frequent flyer is not, this is a shambles

Rewards Black is included in the current Breakfree package and can be upgraded from the current platinum card without a trouble. The QFF Black is currently being reviewed and is expected to become available at some point but not currently.

I am after the frequent flyer black as i am more of a credit card warrior and only fly a few times a year so was hoping to get the QP guest passes for occasional international flights when my upgrade request don't come though.

Anyone got any ideas how applying for this credit card and cancelling it later will affect credit score?

Cancelling later has no effect whatsoever. It's the applying for that reduces your score. How much is dependant on a huge range of factors. I'm guessing somewhere between 10-25 points.

hahaha well fk me. Already applied for it and now they've come back saying in review... i may possibly have too many cards as we speak.

They can't tell how many cards you have... and there is no official "score" in Australia.
The closest to a score is how an individual credit reporting agency may wrap it up and present it to their clients (banks etc..).

Some fin institutions will report a cancelled revolving credit facility where they no longer have any interest, just as others will periodically check your credit record to make sure it remains clean and you still meet their criteria.

Oh ok. Maybe it's the truth about my loans etc which I've already put down onto the ANZ application. I would have though my assets would offset the liabilities I have. Thanks for your response though!

Unfortunately this no longer holds true in Australia. After the new Comprehensive Credit Reporting rules came in earlier this year, they can now. They will be able to tell how many cards/accounts you have open and the limits on them.

See Link: Comprehensive credit reporting | Your Credit and Identity

No they can't just yet! The new rules allow rather than require comprehensive reporting and if you check your credit report you won't find any of the CCR on there. Most likely it will be early next year before the main credit providers start reporting this.

My report only shows my DJ's Amex as a current provider, nothing else!

The bank is asking for a minimum of $75k but my salary is only $72k is there any chance to get it it or can i just put "$75k" in the form? *wink*

From my research, I have this (ANZ Rewards Black) being the best card available for paying the ATO. Anyone have any other card that comes close?

It used to be the Westpac Black Altitude until they canned points earning on ATO payments. HSBC Premier Card is comparable but the conditions are too much of a hurdle ($500k in loans with HSBC or $200k investment or combo of both totalling $500k).

Yes. Actually any 1.5ppd Velocity Amex from the Big 4 or the one from Amex would be better. You can send it to KrisFlyer via Velocity at 1.11ppd which us better than the 1ppd from the ANZ Rewards Amex.
