ANZ Platinum, 50k bonus QFF points after $1500 spend, no annual fee first year

Received mine today, activated and ready to go.
Rang a place to p[ay a $950 bill only to find credit not accepted - bank transfer only :-|

Still waiting here...

When did you apply? I applied last Monday for the basic card and received the cards on the following Friday. This afternoon I rang the call centre and applied for the FF Black (to confirm no fees for the first year). Approved, after about 40 minutes on the phone. One bright spot was when the agent played the QFF log in message instead of the card T&Cs. He had to hang up and call me back when he found the correct recording. :)

I've now also been approved for the entry level FF card. I already have the Platinum FF card and I was successful (one ANZ's error has been corrected) in getting the Black FF card.

Of somewhat concern is the fact that my credit card limit on my ANZ credit cards alone is 76% of my gross income. And ANZ approved that.

I don't chase QFF points at all, but 50k ANZ Rewards points converting to VFF/SQ seems poor value. What to do, what to do...

I got the 2 cards and had them activated. What I don't understand is, when I log into ANZ online banking it shows the Visa account but not the Amex. What should I do to see the Amex account online? And can I add it to my already existing QFF account that I have with my Amex issued QFF card?

The SQ transfer rate is not so good, Velocity a little better but in comparison to QF redemption rates, it probably buys the same Y or J seat on SQ if you get a Saver redemption. Our preference is to fly SQ on Krisflyer points and we rarely travel or redeem points for QF flights but the redemption rates (and availability) for flights on EK are much better than through EK Skywards, although I have noticed that the surcharges levied by QF for flight redemptions ex DXB have gone through the roof in the last 12 months.

It is the one ACCOUNT, limit, etc with two cards (similar to when you have an additional cardholder on the account)

Seems weird that the cards have different numbers but only one appears in my ANZ online account. I'm wondering how I make sure the ANZ Amex card is connected to my already existing QFF account?

Hi All,

For those that have applied (that were not existing ANZ customers), I'm interested as to what information was requested along with the application?

I recently received the qantas ultimate amex which required a grand total of zero proof of identity or income documents, so I'm interested as to what ANZ demand.

Thanks :)

I wasn't an existing customer, all I was asked to do after the cards and info pack arrived was to go in to my local ANZ for a customer identity check, show a couple of forms of ID, they confirmed my address, asked my mobile number, profession and whether I worked for myself. No actual proof requested.

As Doug said, it's one account that just happens to have two different cards. So if one is connected to your QFF account, both are. It's not unusual for a lot of bank CC products to have an Amex and non-Amex card on the one account.

I never manage to qualify for CC's, but decided to bite the bullet and apply for the lowest card tonight, as I do make just on $15k a year as a full time student. Low and behold, the website said they'd get back to me in 5 days... so at least it wasn't a no... but I have no idea where I'll splurge $1500 if they do accept me!

Just paid ATO using basic FF visa from this promo and got 0.5 point per dollar.

Last Monday as well. Had a phone call Tuesday afternoon to confirm my monthly expenses, and was told to go into a branch for a Passport/full ID check which I completed Wednesday. Hoping the cards turn up today.

I have ANZ Visa/Amex - trust me, it is the same account with only the Visa showing on line.
Certainly other posters here will/have confirmed this too.

Applied on Thursday. Requested income documents which were emailed straight away. Cards and welcome kit sent today.

Will have to pop into a branch for ID verification but otherwise a pretty easy way to pick up 50,000 points. Will be interested to see how much of a hit my credit score takes. It's been a little stretched lately.

you can always be "creative" when it comes to filling out the application form. 9 out of 10 times they don't verify income etc. YMMV
