you can always be "creative" when it comes to filling out the application form. 9 out of 10 times they don't verify income etc. YMMV

I've been told to create my own payslips on here too ;)

I got an email this morning asking me to send various documents, so I'll have to look them out :p

Really? I can't remember the last time I got a new credit card without having to send in documents to verify my income.

Does anyone know what would happen if you went down this road and got "sprung"? Eg are there any credit reporting implications? Or worse - reporting to police? I don't know - maybe they just reject the application and move on, but if anyone is contemplating doing anything like this, I think they should find out the answer to this question first. I'm not trying to pass moral judgement here BTW, this is just intended as friendly advice.

I'm not suggesting I'm going to do any forging. Just what I've been told etc.

What samh004 said is what I was hinting towards. I don't believe they are any implications as such, if they're unhappy they'll reject and move on.

I've never been asked to send income documents...and I don't earn that much.

I have a feeling they're more suspicious of people who say they earn more than the average. I never used to be asked but have been more often since I started earning more.

Sent from my iPhone using AustFreqFly

I didn't have to provide any documents nor was there a phone call to my employer to confirm anything.
Approved with a $15,000 limit and already have another card(s) with ANZ with a $27,500 limit.
Go figure.

Application declined despite an income north of $300,000.

Interesting! Maybe you're right Bismarck - perhaps I should start pretending my income is lower than it actually is!

Update: Just rang ANZ since it's now been 7 working days since applying. First person I talked to said there had been no notes on my file since last Tuesday and that I needed to submit my passport, then hung up on me when I insisted that I had already done so at a branch last Wednesday.

Rang back and got someone who went and checked (and found the documents) when I informed him that I had submitted the requested information at a branch. He then passed me onto the applications team who now want proof of income...

It's a basic card with a $1k limit. How hard does this need to be?

Tom remember what Malcolm said? This will all be a distant memory when you are sitting up in the F or J lounge or on board in F or J slurping away on a free Champers - nothing any good comes easy.

Welcome kit arrived in the mail yesterday.
Cards arrived in the mail today. I do not have to go to a branch for anything.
Cards now activated.
Ready to go!

I applied for the ANZ Frequent Flyer Black and got referred. Two days late an email arrived saying I was approved with a credit limit of $36K...now waiting for the cards to arrive:p
