ANZ Platinum, 50k bonus QFF points after $1500 spend, no annual fee first year

I have done the same at Princess Fiona and Supersonic Swinger, and I had to verify my income too. I phoned them to check if my last 2 statements of income would be acceptable and whilst on hold I scanned the docs and emailed them in. After being put through to 3 people, I got an efficient sounding person who rec'd my emails as we talked and she went through the application. Went for the Black card w' $15K as it has the lounge passes. She said she'd phone me later today, but no news yet. If I get it, I will mark 11 months hence in my diary for the next year to review.

After the truly frustrating time I had w' Citi and being knocked back (black mark on unblemished credit history I guess), I feel nervous that ANZ will not like my documents either.

Just topped up 3 Opal cards to the maximum, so about half way to $1,500. I think prepaying for things you would otherwise have to buy is the best way to do it. Or gift cards.

Gift cards. That's something I hadn't thought of. Trigger the $1500 as soon as possible so the waiting period can begin sooner rather than later.

What I am curious about is how much this particular application has dropped your credit score...or anyone else's for that matter? Thanks!

For those interested it was about a 25 pt hit. Not too bad.

My monthly score came in overnight, mine went down 8 points. I also had an investment loan check in the same month so surprisingly my score didn't drop even further.

Trying to decide which card to apply for.

Do any of you see this as a card you'll actually use (past the qualifying points) and if so which card are you going for. Given I have a Citi Signature card and a WBC Amex am not really thinking I'll use this much.

I'm not going to use it beyond the qualifying spend, therefore the card with the lowest limit made sense.

I just wanted the lowest limit as it'll go into a drawer after the points have posted. So the basic card for me.

Those who like me applied in past 48 hours and have since been approved, how long are they taking after the referral?

Exactly what the young lady said. Only reason I could think of for the higher one is if you have a need for the QP passes.

Likewise, went for the basic card and will spend $1,500.00 as soon as possible for the bonus to credit, and then cancel (with, as Princess Fiona said, only a $95 annual fee in case I forget).

Amex MR and Citipoints offer you flexibility to transfer to a range of programs. I loathe QF cards which only direct earn, I'm only applying for this for the bonus points.

I applied for this card and 2 NAB ones in the last month. All approved but my Veda score dropped by 68 points. The month before, it increased by about 30 points, so in 3 months from now I should be square but with plenty of bonus points.

I think you'll find that its not quite that simple, my score only seems to change every second month and changes by different amounts every time!

Thanks, I'm the same really. Not really a QF fan (SQ for me) but these signup free point bonuses hard to turn down!!

I also applied for the black card on Monday (after nearly an hour of reading this thread) I have not had an ANZ card for five years but my business bank is with them and other investments got referred and was approved in the morning with a follow up call to see if I would like to raise my limit from $15000 ?
All very strange as I was rejected on my application for the Macquarie card but then was offered a new lease for my car ( part of Qantas promo )

Applied for black with minimum limit (15k), got referred. But approved via email couple of days later.

Applied for platinum, also referred but probably as I'm a contractor (albeit same company last 15 years!)

I was approved for the basic card but took about a week and two sets of financial docs (4 employers, lots of salary packaging) To get the spend put a few utility bill direct debits on the anz amex as it looks like it should earn full points unlike amex-issued cards.
Also signed up for the anz life and critical illness (20k qf points for 6 months premiums) and used the new anz card for that.
