The t&c first and last sentence is rather clear.

Offer available to new ...... Existing customers may be subject to different fees and should call 13 22 73 for information regarding the fees that apply to their account.

Doesn't sound well run at all. Remind me to avoid that branch by the sounds of it.

Lass on the phone said I could get two lots of 50k points - not 100% sure she is correct, but, adds to the discussion at least. I'm going to go apply for the basic now (<$75k income, but got approved for the Platinum).

Mine listed the fees but also stated that fees are not payable in the first year.
If yours is not the same, i can scan it tomorrow.

Now that the week's winding down I've got a chance to sit down and read through the literature. So the letter of offer does mention the following -
"The Annual Account Fee and Rewards Program Services Fee are not payable in the first year.".... etc

/slap myself.

Does yours have anything in the welcome pack that stipulates the 50k points deal? From past experience they (as in various issuers) don't necessary say that in the packs but thought I'd check.

Thanks!

No mention of the 50k points at all.

Just received the pack for the rewards black card. Sexy package I must admit, the packaging looks better than the Amex platinum reserve card.

I previously read somewhere on this thread that the benefits/BIN number seems to be a visa plat level card, but I think this is most likely a visa signature level card in terms of benefits.

It has mention of luxury hotels (which I presume is the Visa signature hotel collection) and min limit of $15k seems to suggest the above.

I haven't actually gone through the ID process yet so I'm hoping to get that done tomorrow and activate the card and investigate more on this point.

This one had tellers and desks, but a rather unhelpful sign that had 'Accounts' and an arrow pointing at the desks. Not like you can just interrupt someone. Then staff that come out and say "I don't know who was next". A bit shabby.

As an existing customer I hope that I don't have to go into a branch.

I applied for the standard, and was asked for income verification (by email), then nothing for a week until the cards and welcome pack appeared in the mail. I was about to call to find out what was happening. Now, given the other posts regarding multiiple cards, maybe I will try for a Black.

So what you're saying is that the cards showed up without a email confirmation?

My black card welcome kit doesnt mention excluding government charges for points...although thats an older card and not in the promo (managed to get $370 off the annual fee though)...I've reduced the limit of the Black by 1k and added a new basic FF with a 1k limit to get the points.

Charged $560 for a purchase for a friend from Sony, another $366 for passport (whether they count it for the 183 QF points is not something I'm fussed with), so close to $1000 down for the $1500 purchases. Got another $400 payment to EngAus coming up too lol

So i'm already an ANZ customer and have the standard QFF credit card. If i apply for the Platinum QFF card. Will i be eligible for the bonus points and $0 fee? Or is it new customers only?

I applied for this card after being rejected for the Jetstar card (not due to my finances, but to the lending criteria?). Bonus is that I think it covers me for travel insurance - as soon as I get back from my trip it's being cancelled.

Hope not because I already have 2 ANZ cards and also applied for this offer.

Nanks whenever dealing with banks you need to be pro-active - don't just accept what you read or might think appears in T & C's - the big 4 appear hungry for customers recently.

I previously held Altitude Black and then Westpac trundled out the 2 x pts offer for 3 mths for new customers. I called Westpac and asked would they give me 2 x pts on existing card for 3 mths and if not I would cancel and go get an ANZ Black Card.

Their response was we cannot give you 2 x pts with existing card - but apply again for new card and we will track progress - once new card issued we will roll existing balance into new card and cancel old - that way you will get the 2 x pts.

So might I suggest you just call ANZ and tell them you want to apply for new card and you expect the bonus pts and if they don't accommodate you tell them you are off to Westpac Black - again there is no down side - the worst they can say is no.
