ANZ Platinum, 50k bonus QFF points after $1500 spend, no annual fee first year

Hm
-Applied Platinum, accepted approximately 24 hours later, with credit limit above $15k (Black minimum credit limit)
-Received card, tried to move to Black. Got told I could do it, but wouldn't get the 50k QFF points :(. Got told if I wait 3 months the 50k QFF will be crystallised, and I can then move to Black with no penalty. (Pressssumably annual fee free for a year/rest of the year, but this was not stated). I could apply for Black, but, to be honest, I don't have $75k income... so I wouldn't get it through an application.
- I was told* that I would get another 50k points if I applied for a second card (ie: new application for a Black card).... so,
- I reduced my credit limit by $2k (still >Black requirement of at least $15k) and will apply for a $2k limit on the basic ANZ FF card in 5 days when the credit limit decrease has fully gone through.

*Though, I'm not sure I believe them, it's worth an application.

Has anyone who applied for the Rewards card had difficulty activating their anzrewards.com login online?

Received cards today, activated the cards themselves and added them into the Online Banking view fine. But when I try activating the Rewards account login, nothing happens and it keeps going back to the same registration page with no error messages.

Received the cards today, with a 1k limit as well :p Maybe because I said i was a student. I don't think ANZ could make much with that.

I asked for the minimum $15000 limit and my application was referred. I was stunned. Churned a jetstar credit card that I got last year and they gave me a $30,000 limit.

6 days later I get an email stating that my application has been approved for the credit limit I requested.

My wife, who earns $50,000 a year more than me and asked for the same credit limit has been asked to provide evidence of her income.

Doesn't make any sense.

I got my cards today, but it states that you cannot activate until one receives a Welcome Kit (which it says may come 2 days later).

So did you try and activate sans-kit?

My cards came together with my Welcome Kit and I activated the cards themselves fine.

What I'm having issues activating is my login to the Rewards program at anzrewards.com. I have tried a few different browsers but to no avail.

(I got the Rewards not the QFF card as I need to top up my Points for a specific award on EY)

Hi. I'm completely a newbie, so please be patient with me! If I sign up for the black card with anz rewards can I convert these to QFF? Considering the rate that the points are awarded on the black card versus the platinum is it worth it?

Tried to apply for Black and Standard. Referred for both - really? Oh well. Sounds like most people have still had a positive experience when referred but it must take something amazing not to be referred...

First, welcome aboard!

To try and answer your question, it appears ANZ Rewards points can be transferred to VA, SQ, CX and NZ, but not QF. Maybe someone who has an ANZ rewards card can clarify that for me.

Also with ANZ points, while you appear to earn more, it takes more points to redeem. For example 2,250 ANZ points = 1,000 VA points.

This is correct. You have a Qantas-only option called "Frequent Flyer" or the 'everything else' option called "Rewards" which is what you described above.

Welcome to AFF mrs.g
I have two ANZ cards already - 1 a Business Visa, the other a VISA + AMEX on the same account.
All these cards credit to QFF even though the Business Visa goes to ANZ Rewards first and then you have to transfer. The transfer rate is not very good I might add, IIRC 1.5 rewards = 1 QFF.

The product currently on offer might be different.
I think most applicants on AFF will grab the bonus and then ditch the card.

Thanks for the replies. I think I'll get the platinum because of the 1.5 points earn on the AMEX. With the same opening bonus it's a winner. Do you know if I need to cancel the card at about 11 months to avoid the next years fees?

Could it be that they want evidence of a claimed "high income"? I applied for the basic card with a low limit and entered my 6 figure income and was asked for evidence.

I'd say it's this exactly, or at least it is a very large factor.

I applied last night for the platinum card last night and was approved straight away.
I do not have a 6 figure salary.
Maybe just lucky?

With other cards I have just waited for the statement with the renewal fee on it, rang the financial institution and informed them I don't wish to renew. Simple really. I think that this is the best time as I have been offered another year free which I doubt would have been the case if I chose to cancel earlier.
