Mine has come through. Should have asked for a smaller credit limit, that was a bit of a shock.

Just applied for the base FF card. Application referred...

Did the same yesterday and same result. Email in my inbox this morning notifying me that I'm approved. After the $1500 spend and points post, I think this will be cancelled immediately. Just can't see a need for it.

I would recommend not cancelling immediately as you are then training banks up to not make these offers!!!

Better to wait for a while and not be so obvious.

I wouldn't do this. The T & C state that it can take up to 4 months for the bonus points to be credited.

I'm still waiting for them to get back to me after by application was referred last week.

Depends which cards you already have and what your strategt us...

The travel insurance for at least the plat card I find very useful, not sure if its the same for the Black, but with only $250 or overseas spend on travel or accommodation before you leave Australia I would have thought it was one of the easiest comp TI's to activate... As for the rest and which card you went for (the Black has a range of lounges overseas comp for the 12 months as well) I guess you will need to decide, but yes don't cancel it before the points come through....

Good point! Obviously I'll wait for the points to turn up in my account and then cancel either when the 12 months is up OR I need to be seen to have less credit for a different card application.

I applied for the Black card with a zero credit card balance and zero mortgage in the application process and was approved in sixty seconds with 32K limit. However when I applied for the Black card for my beautiful wife the application process didn't allow a zero mortgage, so I was forced to put $1.00 and the application was referred to customer service to verify financials. The only differences in both applications were the title, name,DOB and licence details, all other details were identical. Next day my gorgeous wife received a phone call from ANZ requesting her to confirm orally her income details and the value of her assets and was requested to forward documents to verify her income details. I am interested to see if she is approved with the same credit limit.
I had the same thing happen
I asked for the black card and was approved with a 76000 wage nothing asked for at all
and husband not approved with a 50000 wage for the middle card until he sends financials
and zero mortgage on home owned
ridiculous
can't be bothered sending financials.
we have enough cards
we have been ANZ mortgage customers for 30 years
and business customers for same
now I know why I don't like them

tinkybelle I just could not and would not tolerate that treatment - just further evidence what merciless overlords the big 4 are. I have not held an account with any of the 4 ogres for >15yrs - but I do love scoring the bonus pts off them for new CCs then cancelling straight away and repeat as often as possible.

Just got approved for the black after my application was 'referred'.

The story is that ANZ gave me a call this morning, asking me to confirm the details I have provided. Turns out, the reason why I got 'referred' was because of the way I answered the questions about my current credit card expenses.

I have a Amex platinum charge card which I charge my personal expenses on and as a charge card, I obviously have to pay the balance in full each month. So in the monthly credit card repayments, I noted down $15000 because thats what I spent and repaid last month. It turns out ANZ's system interpreted that as 'a minimum monthly credit card repayment of $15000', which made it look like I had a ridiculous amount of outstanding credit card debt and raised a flag on the approvals system.

So after I told the ANZ agent the story, we agreed that it was more appropriate if we adjust that figure to $0 as I pay my balance in full each month.

5 minutes later, received the approval email.

Has been a while since I had a crack at a bonus points offer so decided to go for the basic card (already have annual travel insurance policy so didn't need the travel insurance of the platinum card).

Am a bit concerned as to the hit it'll give to my credit score (the amount of applications, and amount of outstanding credit are the key things holding back my score) but I only asked for a $2k limit so hopefully I'll still be approved.

Was referred for income verification but hopefully that is just routine. Will report back.

Applied yesterday afternoon and now awaiting approval - requested income evidence

They requested income evidence from me, too, but declined to supply a valid email address to which that evidence could be sent. I'm currently waiting on them to get back to me in response to my query. In the meantime, did you email yours? If so, to which address?

Thanks,

mrpooky.

3. Submit the required documents to ANZ either by:
- Fax to 1800 461 638 - ensuring that your application reference number xx_xx_xx_xx_X is clearly marked on each page
OR
- Email to [email protected] quoting your application reference number xx_xx_xx_xx_X in the subject line.

Personally I doubt it, the 3 CC's wont help, funnily enough home loans are good (people with Home Loans are better payers!)

I got a rejection, maybe because I closed three CC's in two years?
Otherwise it could be using the total CC balances as the monthly payment. Should have put $0 not $x,xx_.
Anyone had a second attempt?
