What sort of card is it, underneath all the branding? I think that is a guide as to the minimum, but there may be institution specific minimums on too.

Sorry, can't be any more helpful that than!

Unsure, seems to just say visa, i would assume it's a plat. Though with the 15k min credit limit, it would be a signature. So who knows.

Decent list of complimentary lounges in that Veloce program....

Might try for the Black card and if they could knock down the annual fee for year 2 think about keeping it, I have just an ANZ plat at the moment and only getting charged the $55 QF program fee...

Pretty good deal. I am a current Platinum card holder. Could I just keep that and apply for a basic card to get the bonus? I just want the points LOL

From the t&c:
Your application must be approved and you must make $1500 worth of eligible purchases (excluding fees, cash, cash equivalent transactions, balance transfers and premiums for ANZ credit card insurance) within three months of approval to receive the bonus Qantas Points.

What might "cash equivalent transactions" be? I'm looking to get the card and pay some insurance premiums and utilities which should hopefully count towards the spending requirement.

I see the website talks about "reward pts" (2 reward pts per $ etc). Can anyone confirm that 1 reward point converts to 1 QFF pt?

Cash equivalent would be things like deposits to gambling websites at a guess.

Does anyone know the definition of a new customer for this deal ? I closed my last ANZ CC in March, does that make me a new customer ?

Hmm if you got one of the black ones, seems you can get supplementary cards for $55+$10 so if you had a spouse or a few friends who were willing to stump up the $65 (on the strict agreement that they weren't so spend anything on it) they could use the overseas complimentary lounge access i am guessing as well... If you were a great person... :)

Sorry I just read it again and you are right. Not sure thou is that after the first years fee waiver or from the first year.

Sorry, maybe I'm blind...

How many QFF points are on offer for purchases??

"Qantas Points and Bonus Qantas Points accrue in accordance with the ANZ Frequent Flyer Reward terms and conditions (please call 13 13 14 for a copy)"

Primarily looking at the Platinum... butr if anyone knows the Black, would be interested too.

I phoned yesterday to ask that question and was told a NEW customer simply means someone who DOES NOT CURRENTLY have a card with ANZ. The example I gave was specific to me though and I cancelled my ANZ card 3 years ago. From what I was told though, same same.

I called up today and asked for the Black card and told them I have the Plat card currently, 30 minutes of questions and providing details over the phone and told my application had been approved...

Told the Black offers 1.5p/$1 on Amex and 0.75p/$1 on the Visa...

Thanks for the tip off. Have made an application tonight. But my application was 'referred'. No idea what that means.

Interesting, i called and was told even existing cardholders were eligible. I have a low rate card from a few years ago (tied to my home loan) that i all but forgot about. Was told as long as i didn't cancel that card and was approved under a new application i would get 50k points & no annual fee.

Had to speak to 4 people until i was given a straight answer.

Moving forward applied and approved overnight, will make another call (and have my file noted) before activating.... As far as i can see i am well within the T&C of the offer.

100k points between myself and the wife for $0 is incredible.

Decided to bite the bullet and applied for the black. Received instant approval

Looking forward to the 50k points :)

Wonder if I could apply for the basic one as well, 100,000 free points is better than just 50,000??? :)

Someone i noticed on one of the threads about how the changes Qantas are making will impact loyalty mentioned that banks and other businesses have already bought the points off QF, one sign of loyalty slipping will be if they are stuck with all these points and start offereing bigger bonuses... I wonder if this is any such thing???

Well there are certainly some good offers out there but would have thought the banks buy as they need rather than running huge stockpiles.

Don't know, I'm sure QF try to run things to advantage themselves as much as possible and also transfer all the risk to their partners if possible...
