Don't know, I'm sure QF try to run things to advantage themselves as much as possible and also transfer all the risk to their partners if possible...
Of course but I also think the banks are big enough and ugly enough to carry a fair bit of weight in this conversation, they are after all bigger and make more money (actually strike that, they make money full stop).

I called up today and asked for the Black card and told them I have the Plat card currently, 30 minutes of questions and providing details over the phone and told my application had been approved...

Told the Black offers 1.5p/$1 on Amex and 0.75p/$1 on the Visa...

can you explain what did you say to the CSR? I tried that and they insists the offer is only available for customeers who have never applied for ANZ credit card before.

Received cards today already ...now to wait up to 2 days to receive welcome pack to activate!
Are gift cards Cash like transactions?

I rang up someone first more general and told them i had been with the bank a while and was tired of not getting shown much love for the people who stay loyal and keep the cards while newbies get all these offers and whether I needed to cancel the card and go elsewhere, so then I think she transferred me to someone in card sales i think it was, had a sort of an Indian sounding voice and i repeated the same lines... Not really any hard sell required, when he said i met the requirements and did i want to apply online or over the phone i said lets do it then and there, so gave all the details and he said it was approved... As it should be...

I didn't ask for exactly the same Plat card I already have so I was asking for a new card product with the thought process that I might keep it up after a year...

Maybe call back and try to get a different person???

T&C

Offer available to new and approved applicants who apply and are approved for an ANZ Frequent Flyer, ANZ Frequent Flyer Platinum or ANZ Frequent Flyer Black credit card accounts by 26 August 2014

The bonus Qantas Points offer applies only once per new ANZ Frequent Flyer, ANZ Frequent Flyer Platinum or ANZ Frequent Flyer Black credit card account.

So if you have a card already there is nothing I can see to exclude you. Probably safest to go fora different type of card.

Yeah I will try calling again. Did you ask to switch your existing platinum card or you simply applied for the new black card and now hold 2 ANZ cards?

You will not get points by switching.

It has to be a new application...and not a transfer/switch etc.

Applied.. didn't get instant approval. Will wait for application process to go through. Think it may have to do with asking for a high credit limit.

I asked for the minimum $15000 limit and my application was referred. I was stunned. Churned a jetstar credit card that I got last year and they gave me a $30,000 limit.

Friend said he asked for 20k and had to wait for a day. I'll see if any reply tomorrow.

Applied online for frequent flyer card ,asked for $6k limit. Got referred .
Email last night - approved with $15k limit . Now to sign up other family members

Anyone applied for more than one? Say the black and the standard/classic?

Not that I need two...

According to the T&C no.
1. Offer available to new and approved applicants who apply and are approved for an ANZ Frequent Flyer, ANZ Frequent Flyer Platinum or ANZ Frequent Flyer Black credit card accounts by 26 August 2014 The bonus Qantas Points and $0 Annual Fee offer is not available in conjunction with any other offers, packages or promotions or when you transfer or close an existing ANZ credit card. The bonus Qantas Points offer applies only once per new ANZ Frequent Flyer, ANZ Frequent Flyer Platinum or ANZ Frequent Flyer Black credit card account.

Although, it doesn't seem to preclude you from signing up for the black rewards card under a similar offer to pocket 50k ANZ points.

I'm a holder of the Frequent Flyer Plat card and rang up ANZ to confirm eligibility for this offer. They said as long as I keep my existing credit card, and apply for a new one through a brand new application, and hence get a new frequent flyer account number, then I'm eligible for the offer.

I just had ANZ knock me back for the basic Frequent Flyer card. It is a little strange considering the earn requirements are 15K earning. Could it be the fact that I am self employed?

My wife applied for the Black and was approved no problems...Should I ring them back and push? Thoughts?

My application for the basic card is being referred.
The application process was odd in that my home address is not a valid address  and the process does not accept a zero balance for current credit cards. What balance am I supposed to write when each month all my cards are payed in full (rinse & repeat)
My work address is not valid either but I am used to that.
If I don't get the card so be it. I think there is also a NAB offer with QFF points bonus.

Edit to add: Maybe instead of ticking I will accept the maximum credit limit I should have opted for a low amount, say $5,000.00

I agree it is odd.

'and the process does not accept a zero balance for current credit cards. '

It did for me.

Zero balance and statement balance paid in full are not exactly the same, I pay in full the statement balance but given there is 14/25 days to pay I usually have a balance again at time of payment.

If you cant put $0 can you put $1 which is effectively the same!

DR I regularly get "Referred" as am self employed - invariably goes through once accountant is contacted and financials confirmed.

I dont think they even contacted my accountant. Anyway I will get my points through something else....where there's a will there's a way!

Also if you have looked at the T & C's apparently it will take up to 4 months for the bonus to credit to your Qantas account.
