ANZ Platinum, 50k bonus QFF points after $1500 spend, no annual fee first year

I applied for the Black card with a zero credit card balance and zero mortgage in the application process and was approved in sixty seconds with 32K limit. However when I applied for the Black card for my beautiful wife the application process didn't allow a zero mortgage, so I was forced to put $1.00 and the application was referred to customer service to verify financials. The only differences in both applications were the title, name,DOB and licence details, all other details were identical. Next day my gorgeous wife received a phone call from ANZ requesting her to confirm orally her income details and the value of her assets and was requested to forward documents to verify her income details. I am interested to see if she is approved with the same credit limit.

What a card!
What a company!
Received Welcome pack one day after cards!
Rang them to activate and hit a snag as attempted auto service and when I forgot my new limit transferred me to a AUSSIE\KIWI babe that seemed positive until said they discovered I had to identify myself at bank.
Could not find a branch open on Saturday from suburbs/postcodes but I jumped onto the website and found the next suburb had one open tomorrow!
Told em I had a meal card with bank but not sufficient?
So will activate tomorrow morning via branch
Now for the PIN to be sent.

I'm a holder of the Frequent Flyer Plat card and rang up ANZ to confirm eligibility for this offer. They said as long as I keep my existing credit card, and apply for a new one through a brand new application, and hence get a new frequent flyer account number, then I'm eligible for the offer.

I don't think QFF will be happy with that. Are you sure they said to get a new QFF number?

Sorry, poorly written by me. Meant a new ANZ frequent flyer credit card account, not a new QFF account.

Thank you.
Relevant for my daughter who has an ANZ Plat already. So I have already told her to apply for the ANZ FF. Her income is not high enough for the Black.

I just had ANZ knock me back for the basic Frequent Flyer card. It is a little strange considering the earn requirements are 15K earning. Could it be the fact that I am self employed?

My wife applied for the Black and was approved no problems...Should I ring them back and push? Thoughts?

I'm self employed. 40k income with 18k limit on other cards. Approved instantly with 7.5k limit. I'm quite lucky I guess. Amex and Citi also approved my applications with generous credit limit considering I'm self employed and a low income earner. Had to decrease my limit a couple of times on all cards.

Validated in branch.
$1520 on wish cards 5% off paid using Amex
Boom boom boom!

Now to get qantas lounge passes.... Bit surprised not sent with welcome pack (

Just applied for the Black card in the non-QF version (so 50k ANZ reward points, which I understand is ~16k SQ miles).

Oddly enough, didn't get an instant approval which is a first for me. Its pending assessment and apparently I will hear about the outcome of the application within 5 working days.

Apart from the bonus points, there is nothing else that is attractive with this card as the points earning rate is really poor though for a relatively premium product offering. I can't see myself using this card over my Amex platinum charge/edge cards + Citi Signature card combination

I think ANZ do this for all Black applications.
They have for both my wife and I.

TI is good and is easily and cheaply activated.

While I prefer SQ..I took the 50K of QFF over 16K to SQ. Plus it came with two QC passes.

Definitely agree regarding the 50k QF vs 16k SQ.

The only factor that tipped the scale towards the non-QF for me in this case was that it didn't come with a $1500 min spend. Not that it is a huge amount but still, not having this requirement was a minor plus.

And with the QF Black version, one of my colleagues got approved instantly (we applied together today), albeit with the bare minimum $15,000 limit so yeah, not sure what was going on there.

Good point about the TI. The rental car cover especially seems pretty good!

1300 580 765. Qantas Club Lounge invitations
Ordered over phone...nice bloke, quick answering phone.
48hrs to arrive from Monday after verification!
Yeah baby!

I was told that my application was referred. Then overnight (at 0355 AEST ) received an email saying I've been approved. I applied for the Rewards even though the earn ratio is poorer as I needed that bit of an extra top up for a specific award we've been saving up for. I will probably keep the card for the year in the event I happen to be travelling through one of the ports listed for comp lounge access and otherwise have no lounge access for whatever reason.

Where is the option to select QFF points or ANZ Rewards?

Well I tried their Velcose Lounge website and entered first 6 digits on card:
Véloce Lounges

COMING SOON??????????????????????????????

I just got this card/deal as well. Is it too wishful thinking that once I spend the $1500 for the 50,000 points I could pay the $1500 with my Amex QFF card and also get the points with it?

Congratulations Mr B.!

You have been approved for an ANZ Frequent Flyer with a limit of $15000.

After having my application listed as pending on Friday I received the above email this morning :D
Now to spend $1,500.00, collect the points and shut the account before renewal.
I really don't need nine credit cards. Then again there is a NAB offer........
