ANZ Platinum, 50k bonus QFF points after $1500 spend, no annual fee first year

Applied this afternoon with a $5k limit, and the 60 second response said it would need further review. Given I have two cards with a combined value of $24k already, it' not too surprising. Less than hour later I received an email saying it was approved.

Time to spend $1500, wait four months and then cancel the card.

Called up today to see where things were at after my phone application 1.5 weeks ago. No record of my application apparently. I applied online this time....

Dont count on that being faster, I applied at the WE, referred, nothing to date.

Just rang up. Was told I was approved yesterday and the cards were sent today. Only took 2 weeks and multiple follow ups...

Cards have now shown up. Activated without the welcome pack, paid my telstra bill, rang up to set up online banking. It's all go now.

They told me the same. I called them and asked if they could swap me over from the Plat which i got back in April to the Black with bonus points and no annual fee and they said can't do it over phone, so just create new application on line. Approval in 60 sec's and cards should be here in next 2 days.

Went for Black and have been approved.

The groundswell of activity here pulled me over line and got me motivated to get those free QFF points. FWIW I went for Black as we've maxed out all our other cards in regards to QFFP earning thanks to that glorious ATO thread. While the ATO still works and I'm still holding QF Plat status I'll be making this one a keeper. SWMBO has also submitted and should breeze through for approval.

SWMBO just got approval for an application submitted yesterday. She has the Investec CC in the bag so that's a family haul of 200,000 QFFP in a couple of days :D

Between us we've only applied for 7 CC in the past 10+ years (incl these ANZ blacks).....keen to go hunting for points.

received card while I was away .
seems I still have to go to the bank to get identified. seems strange to send cards with out that ID . I have held an ANZ account for 25 yrs. rediculous!

I note that it has been yanked as evidently only meant to be for medical people. Is she one, or did she sneak through before they woke up??

CA (Chartered Accountant) - Targeted via email.

They like Medical/Accountants/Financial Planners

Helped my son apply for the black last night.
Approved straight away.

Now I just need to figure out the best way to pay off my card. I assume BPAY or in branch are going to almost be the only options without an ANZ transaction account.

The only problem is that I don't have the Bpay details until I get my first statement

Hmm this is quite unusual.

I whipped out my first bill to grab you the bpay code, it's 6007 btw.

The account number should be your visa's number.
Just noticed my account number's last 2 digits are different than the last 2 digits on my visa card :S

Is this normal?

Edit:

Just logged into the anz online, the account number listed there is my visa's card number, different from the one on the bill.

Time to give ANZ a call i think, before I make payment to someone else's card.

The number on your statement is the "account" number, the "card" number(s) are different eg if you have the primary and two secondary "cards" each would have a different number, which in turn is different from the "account" number. In theory, if you loose your "card" they could cancel that card number and issue another one with a different "card" number, but still under the old "account" number (although I'm not sure it happens that way).

Yep the bpay code is 6007 but your account number is not CC number. Or at least, my account number differs from the Visa number by 2 digits...

I understand, except when I log into ANZ online, all references are "account number" which is the same as that on my visa. It would have made more sense if it said card number.

In any case, I did just call up ANZ they said the account number on statements are different for security reasons, and that both numbers (account & card) are valid for BPAY.

Did those people who applied for two different cards wait any time between application or just do them right after one another? Also I assume it was confirmed that doing this will result in two lots of the 50k point sign up bonus? And thinking of applying for the basic and platinum cards.
