ANZ Platinum, 50k bonus QFF points after $1500 spend, no annual fee first year

Yep definitely think they are swamped. I received my welcome pack and pins in the mail and then got a text message last Friday stating:
ANZ: Due to unforeseen circumstances, your new ANZ credit cards have been delayed but should be delivered to you by 30/07. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Got the same text myself.

Had already applied for, and received (and spent the requisite $1500) on a standard card about two weeks prior - after reading a few posts in this and other threads on the topic about people doing tens of applications a year, decided my 3rd in 12 months wouldn't be a problem so went for the black as well.

I went in to a branch to verify my identity, it was before lunch and the guy who served me had already verified the identity of 4 other new card holders taking advantage of the offer.

I wonder if other banks will fight back with an even bigger sign on bonus...

I received the same SMS - I think it's a batch problem with production of the cards.

SWMBO applied after me and received her cards today - activated and paid house insurance which ensured the $1,500 was covered by ++++ margin.

Mine have turned up this morning. Have three rate notices and car rego lined up ready to go....

When I rang ANZ card services apparently you do get bonus points on the second application.

I do not recall anyone that has had it confirmed that they would gain a second bonus, just that if they already had an ANZ card (ie pre-promo)that if they applied for a new card that they would get the (first) bonus.

It may be that the ANZ system might let you earn it, even if they did not intend it...but it you will not know for 4 months. But equally 4 months gives ANZ ample time to vet all bonii that are paid if they are of a mind too. T&C while not precise does certainly imply that it is only one bonus on offer.

I will be please to hear otherwise. In the mean time a second application should perhaps be treated as a lottery ticket where you might win.

Rang to follow up my rejection. I had shown the full credit card monthly balance payment, instead of only the minimum required. Also didn't include my customer number (inactive account).
Quoted my customer number & a new application was approved over phone for a higher credit limit.
The CSO's apparently get commission, according to the disclosures I had to listen to.

Already have ANZ Plat, went into bank last week said your approved already being customer, went to different branch while out shopping but still had to go through the application process, so looks like between Mrs Lime & self will get total of 100K QFF points.

My partner was approved immediately and the cards arrived last week. I applied on Monday for the blue card, (already have two ANZ Plat cards), $1k minimum credit limit, listed my self as 'retired' (easier to explain my income this way) and got 'referred'. Received a call today and all they asked was the authority to knock off $1k limit from one of the other two cards I have - 'Sure' I said - cards will be here in 3 days!
2 tix PAR DXB in J with EK next year looking good!

Called chasing my application status and turns out I've already been approved and the cards have already been sent, so I should see them any day now.

I'll use this card to pay for stuff for a holiday early next year and make use of the travel insurance as well. =)

Received my Black cards today after the SMS advising of a delay last week.

Interestingly, they came in an Auspost express envelope, rather than the normal ANZ envelope.

Had an ANZ plat before this offer, applied for a black and a basic one and have received both packs...

One thing to note i was going to use the Black's Veloce program to get acces to the Premier lounge in Bali last night, anyway after Jetstar screwed us around for half an hour I rock up to the lounge (its mentioned here as being available with the Black card http://www.anz.com/resources/2/5/25...cess-Program-Terms-Conditions.pdf?MOD=AJPERES) only to be told the Black card wasn't on the list of cards that got you in which was annoying!! Had a look online in the gate area and it seemed to say on the ANZ indonesia site somewhere that Black CC got you into a couple of other lounges but by then it was too late to go and look for them as already had the pat down and bag search to enter the gate waiting area...

After being screwed around by Jetstar and then by the card's lounge offer wasn't a happy camper...

But will be good when the 100,000 QF points finally get credited...

I am looking to get rid of my AMEX card partly because the complimentary insurance does not cover pre existing medical conditions - being over 60, I have accumulated a few of these.

I looked into the coverage provided by ANZ ( http://www.anz.com/resources/1/e/1e...d448/premium-cards-insurances.pdf?MOD=AJPERES ) and it looks also like there are restrictions on coverage of pre existing conditions.

However the T and Cs say that it may be that QBE will cover some existing conditions on payment of an additional fee.
Has any of the posters with a platinum or black card had any experience of trying to extend their travel insurance cover to include pre existing conditions?

I also got the same sms about the card issues but have not received them yet. I don't live in a city so hopefully they arrive in a day or so.

I applied over a week ago and got a response saying it had been referred. Heard nothing more until today, when I got a phone call "to check a few details". Apparently I had inadvertently added an extra zero to my share of monthly expenses, which took my apparent monthly spending to approximately 4 times my take home pay!

Hopefully things will progress now that has been cleared up. But as usual, I was asked to send proof of income.

Don't worry your not the only one that did that, I declared that I was was paying 6k a month on my car...
