I received my cards by Express Post yesterday and the Welcome pack today after receiving the SMS about the delay too last week.

Did anyone else incorrectly receive two sets of cards? I'm having huge issues with it now and ironically I can't even use either set of cards.

Bummer - don't you hate that - had that with Centurion once - also had it with Citi Select once and again only 3 weeks ago with a Bendigo Debit Card - so frustrating.

That might be the issue that resulted in the SMS's going out last week. Received mine a couple of days ago and all is fine....even the paywave works (after you set up the pin)

ANZ are either overrun with applications or have terrible processes. The missus got the Investec application/approval/card all done and dusted in a matter of days.

Applied for the ANZ Frequent Flyer Classic on Friday 25/7/14. Got referred and then approved on Monday 28/7/14. Just received cards today in the mail. Now to activate them and pay some bills. Then to be put aside in a draw for the next four months. Did help already being a ANZ customer with all accounts with them. Seriously this is J awards for jam!

I'm still waiting for approval. This is after ringing them again and resending relevant docs!
I hear ya brutha ...... or sista ...... - I have had to re-send last 2yrs Tax Returns and Tax Assessments - apparently they could not read first copy - the things one must do to fly further farther faster..................

I wonder whether it would be pushing it to apply for a 3rd set of cards on this offer (and have 4 cc accounts open with ANZ)?? :)

Just got #2 approved after referral. $1500 spend and in the drawer it goes. I do wonder how they make any money from these deals or are we points-milkers in the minority ?

are we points-milkers in the minority ?
This. The average person is either too lazy, ignorant or stupid to take advantage of these things. After all, the Whirlpool consensus is that points are rip off schemes that give terrible value and are hard to redeem. Oh, the blasphemy!

Just let them believe that. More for us ;)

Applied for ANZ Black 2 weeks ago - finally got my cards 2 days ago and activated it. There was a delay in getting the points.

There are only a minority of people like us who would get the card - aim to get the 50K bonus points, in the meantime also get the 2 Qantas Club passes - then cancel before the 1st year is up.

In terms of Qantas earn points - is pretty good with the Amex earn rate of 1.5 points per dollar. Visa not so much at 0.75 points per dollar.

Applied for the regular card on Wednesday, referred and then approved yesterday. Will spend the required $1500 when the card arrived next week and then repeat the process with the black card before the promotion ends in a few weeks. Too easy!

I applied for the QF Visa Black and was confused when I got both. Now I have to try to spend $3K - $1500 on both isn't it? There's a few little extras like the 4pm check out at some hotels, best price guarantee and extended warranty. Just gotta remember which card out of my playing card pack (all for sign on points bonus) to use for what.

I think I'll be lying low for 12 months now to allow my credit rating to calm down.

Wow, I have logged into my ANZ account and it shows that they have now deposited the bonus 50,000 points! Woop woop wooop! :) FWIW I have only made around $800 worth of purchases since I activated the card on 20/7 however will continue to spend slightly more than the $1,500 requirement, just in case.
