ANZ Platinum, 50k bonus QFF points after $1500 spend, no annual fee first year

I've been trying to think of how to spend the $1,500, but I don't think I could spend anyway near that much at WOW in 12 months. Any other ideas on good ways to spend without really spending? (which this would be if you shopped enough with WOW)

I topped up 3 Opal cards to the maximum. It will get spent eventually.

Do you mean I only have one go at the 50,000 points even if I get 2 separate types of cards in this promotion?

As far as I can gather 2 x 50k points have yet to be posted for anyone on here. I'm still tempted to apply for a 2nd card myself on the off chance points will be awarded. Would be my 3rd ANZ card so not sure how that will go down lol

if you're willing to wear another enquiry on your credit file I can't see why you wouldn't try your luck.

50,000 points posted overnight for me (Platinum card) in addition to the ordinary points for this month's spend.

Finally managed the time to set up the online banking :)
No statement yet for me and no bonus points showing on the ANZ site.
I'm a patient princess

I very much doubt they will give out 2 x 50k bonus points. Part of the terms are "new" customers only, so they could use that if you have applied been approved, and then apply again for the other tiered cards. Goodluck if it works out for some.

Just to post a timeline. Applied for Black on Sat 16th, referred screen/email then approved email within a minute. Cards arrived Thursday 21st, ID'd in branch Friday 22nd took 5mins including online setup with welcome pack in mail that night. Should have had branch setup my PIN, as they are still in the mail. Also have applied for my partner (basic), approved straight away, expecting cards next week. Cheers.

Actually that's not quite what the terms say, plenty of existing ANZ Customers have got the bonus. What it actually says is

Offer available to new and approved applicants who apply for an ANZ Frequent Flyer, ANZ Frequent Flyer Platinum or ANZ Frequent Flyer Black credit card account by 26 August 2014.

Does that mean that you have received two lots of 25,000 on two different ANZ Cards taken out under this promotion?

That's what I've been wondering. Are the people who have gotten the 25k bonus the ones that have been approved for 2 different cards?

Geting strong resistance from +1 about her getting (another) this card:evil:

I'm an existing customer and even had an existing anz credit card. 50k points on base card posted last week.

Agree it's fairly unlikely 2 x 50k points will post for multiple new credit cards though.

will be interesting to see if my wife's 50k post as she through some fluke cancelled her existing anz qff cc 2 days before this offer was released. So far it's looking good good, card recieved 5 business days from application and 1500 spent that day... time will tell I guess.

I'm keeping my powder dry for other/better CC bonus offers rather than double dip with this one.. .....who knows if any will pop-up but I'm willing to punt they will.

Resistance broken...applled for the basic card for +1, approved immediately. ..another 50K:), making it 100K all up. ...ok haven't got them yet ;)

Friend has been approved only a few days ago for the basic (less then a day as pending), I applied this afternoon (basic, I already have the platinum ××cancel call is next month ;) xx) which I'm pending.

Better than a basic card with first year annual fee free and 50,000 points for spending $1,500!? I applied for this with a $2k limit!

I've had 75,000 bonus points post from my two cards so far - but I just hit the $1,500 limit on the second card on Thursday.

Once the remaining 25,000 points post I'll call up and try to transfer from Platinum to Black.

The single best CC promotion I've ever applied for.... and will only get better if I can get Platinum. Velcoe membership would compliment my Diners Club lounge access quite nicely - let alone the two QP invites

Thanks for your advice - this forum is so valuable.

I think I will hold off with the extra card application.

What I may do is wait until there is another bonus offer for the platinum and cancel the basic and apply for the plat.

Is there a minimum time that you need to have cancelled the previous card before you are regarded as a "new customer"

Other options are out there....SWMBO got a 100K QFFP with the Investec CC. We both have the ANZ FF Black in the bag for another $100k and I'm guessing one of the other three banks will drop a special bonus soon enough.

On OzBargain there's a post from a user saying they have cleared 100,000 points from the Basic + Platinum cards.

Sadly, while I've applied twice I cannot confirm because I haven't yet activated the ANZ Black or met the minimum spend.

When I called up to upgrade the ANZ Basic to ANZ Black the girl on the phone suggested lodging a new application as if she upgraded the card it would not be eligible for the first year free. She also seemed to think that the second application would get the second set of bonus points as well.
