Thanks for taking the time to copy and paste the part of the first bullet point of the offer that I already read and agreed to when signing up for the ANZ card. I'm afraid you misinterpreted or misread my question. It wasn't 'What did ANZ stipulate in the offer on the time frame for the bonus points?'. I would be questioning my own intelligence and awareness levels if I thought anywhere near that line.

And if you're still doubting the nature of my query, it was directed to others about their experience. :D

Sorry, based on past experience, people seem to complain that their bonus points aren't instant when a NZ have stipulated a specific time period. Most people don't actually read the offer ;) so again, apologies for assuming that you hadn't.

As for my experience (with the original offer), it was 3 months for the points to appear.

Great attitude. I'm sure you'll find lots of people going out of there way to help you. To my knowledge points were never credited after the initial spend. Some people got them after the first monthly points sweep (including me). Subsequently it's the 3rd month's point sweep.

You're welcome.

Thanks. I should have explained the background of my question. In the previous offer round my partner got the bonus points on the first statement. So just wondered if that's the norm.
From your answers that occurrence seems to be an oddity.

Will report back when mine get posted.

The points should be credited after the first "eligible spend" (as opposed to $1,500 as per the title), right?

It depends on what offer that YOU applied under. Read the Terms and Conditions of THAT offer.

The offer that many of us applied under was for 3 months after and for all 5 50Ks that I received that was when they arrived.

Yes I know....but the poster was asking when points should be posted.

Points should be posted as per T&C. As we all know sometimes points can appear earlier....or even later.

I disagree. The terms & conditions tend to indicate the maximum time to get points. They are frequently awarded before what's indicated which is why the OP asked. He just didn't pay enough attention to the response.

Can I assume here that you applied for 5 cards for yourself? All under the same name?

I wasn't aware that you could do that?

Can you confirm this info for me?

Thank you!

I got 3 in the same name, one of each flavour and despite some kicking and screaming, got 3 x 50k points.

Wow!

Thanks so much for responding, btw...

May I ask how you went about applying for them? Did you wait a few days in between applications?

And what do you mean, one of each flavour? There were three different tiers of cards available? I can't remember what was available when I applied, I just applied for one card.. I just became curious today about this card after I noticed my points had finally been put into my QFF account.

No, as mentioned many posts earlier it was 3 for me, and 2 for my wife.

My young daughter also gained one lot for herself, as she already had one ANZ card and would not earn enough to qualify for the Black.

I currently hold ANZ Platinum FF and can confirm that it is ATO friendly, used it to pay off my HECS debt (and then got most of that back in cash in my tax return from previous salary withholding :-) )

Interesting... Very interesting...

so so if I make a lump sum payment off my HECS debt right before I do my tax return, ill get back what I paid throughout the year in tax through my pay?
is that how you worked it? Just curious as it'd be VERY cool to get frequent flyer points for that debt!!!

I applied a few days apart. There was a basic, Black and platinum from memory.

So ANZ did not award the points by the deadline stated in the T &C, and you then had to act?

Sorry, my post was a bit misleading. I got all the points by the stated deadlines. The problem was when I rang to cancel and the operator (a complete Rsole) threatened to somehow undo the points already awarded !! Really left a bad taste in my mouth about ANZ.

Sounds like it would work, but you would be better off to pay in May as the debt is indexed on 1 June each year.

Damn, I wish I'd thought to do that.. I don't earn anywhere near enough for their black card, but maybe I could've got the lower two..

Im now going back part time from maternity leave, so it's going to be a while before I can apply for any new promos without getting rid of some of my existing cards.. Problem is most of them have 0% balance transfers on them..

Anyway, thanks for the tip to use in the future!

My 150k finally come through. Luckily I signed up to the other 2 cards on the last night of the original promo.
