What is your experience in overpaying utility bills? As in, which company, and how quickly did you get a refund (if any)?

Even BETTER, pay by PAYPAL and link a 1.5 point/$1 Amex card.
Funningly some of the utiliti
ies that won't accept AMEX will accept PAYPAL
Work that out !!

Agreed. Telstra charges me to pay via CC, but not via Paypal (which, in my case, is funded by CC)

Same experience

Never an issue for me

You're doing something wrong. I overpay my bills (electricity, gas, telephone, internet) all of the time when I need to reach minimum spends on new credit cards quickly. No money has ever been refunded. It simply stays in the account (in credit) until the next billing cycle.

Time has come to cancel our ANZ Black cards... Can this just be done via the phone? How much grief do ANZ give when doing it?

I just tried to apply for this online and got an automated response that my application had been referred for "further processing" and that I would have a response within 5 business days. Is this normal? I didn't think that there was anything in my application that would flag any issues, I meet the criteria easily and I have an excellent credit score?

its a psychological ploy to make you question..... am i not worthy of this card?... so when you're approved, the elation of acceptance will instantaneously convert to over spending !' ;)
yeah I think it's pretty normal, I too met the criteria, but got the same response. I think there was an SMS/email the next day saying, you're awesome - come spend your money.

I just got referred also. IIRC when I applied for the same card a couple of years back i got instantly approved. My financial standing should be better now than it was back then, only thing i can think of is all the credit enquiries on my file :o

Oh well, lets see what happens

Send a letter, then you have a written record of when your 12 month exclusion period starts.

You applied for the 'ANZ QFF Black 75,000 bonus / No Annual Fee First Year/ $7,500 spend in 3 months' card as listed in this thread?

You'd be better off making an application for the new version which is 'ANZ QFF Black 75,000 bonus with no annual fee 1st year -only $2500 spend 1st 3 months'. Details here:

Hi Dr Ralph

I applied for the new offer, 75K points, no annual fee, spend 2.5K in 3 months :)

LOL. But you know, you could well be right! That could well work as a marketing ploy!

The 12 month exclusion include secondary card holders?

I previously has an ANZ QFF card which I cancelled. 2 months later got my partner to apply for this Black QFF card, with me as secondary holder, and bonus points were received. ANZ confirmed that the 12 month rule only applies to the primary card holder

My 75K points showed up this week. It was the 3rd statement since I hit the min spend

Anyone with this product been successful at a product transfer over to the rewards black (non QFF) without the need to reapply?

I did it through the "Send a message" (or whatever it's called) function in online banking. Zero grief. In fact, nothing back except a confirmation message.

Hit the min spend here ($7500) in two months. Does anyone know how long it takes for the 75k points to pop into the account?

I cancelled my ANZ Qantas Black card about 6 months ago. The T&C for Black Rewards card suggest that I can still apply and get bonus points as long as I haven't held a Rewards card in the previous 12 months. The Qantas card seems to be viewed as a different product. Anyone had experience with same? Thanks.

The T&C's still have the Rewards and Qantas cards as separate programs. SWMBO recently cancelled a ANZ Qantas card. Do we think that bonus points would be awarded for a Rewards card for transfer to Velocity?

Cheers, Steven.

very lucky, or i got someone who is lazy. I got a copy and paste answer, basically asking me to go through change my card option which appears to cancel one to get another, obviously i didnt go all the way with it. .......
