Re: ANZ QFF Black 75,000 bonus with no annual fee 1st year -only $2500 spend 1st 3 mo

After two full statements no word of the bonus points. They better be on the third statement, I past the minimum spend in the first month.

They post the points 3 months after the card is activated (providing you have spent the required dollars) regardless of when you reached the threshold

My father got his 2 months after card received. Spend limit reached within 3 weeks of activation.

When you log into online banking, can you see the bonus points after clicking the rewards tab on the left side of screen ??

I wanted to clarify that this was the information told to me by ANZ on Sunday night when I enquired about missing points, but my poxy Iphone keeps logging me out of AFF preventing me from editing original post. YMMV

Thanks for this, yes the 75k is showing up here.

Should be coming through at the end of this statement

This isn't my experience nor the experience of a number of others who have posted in this thread. Suggest you read above for example of points being awarded MUCH sooner. I'd cancelled my card well before the 3rd statement after already having received my points. The sooner you cancel the better in order to wait out the mandatory 12 months period before applying for a new offer.

Just on this - are there any long term repercussions if one cancels cards soon after bonus points are credited? Do CC providers keep some form of record of this?

No repercussions from my experience. And I churn a LOT. At least 12 cards a year.

The thing to be aware of is that some banks, like ANZ, have a 12 month exclusion period before you can re-apply. So the sooner you cancel the better.

There is of course the theory that if everyone does this, banks will catch on to it. The danger I personally think is that if a large enough portion of the population did that, we might lose points + no annual fee offers, but points offers that still have an annual fee (eg the recent 80k QF amex premium) might stick around as the $250 annual fee offsets the cost of points somewhat.

Oh how I would love to work in the area of finance that designed these offers.

Did you remember to order your lounge passes first?

The banks have caught on to this already, that's why ANZ have the 12 month clause and coulee just as easily extend that to 24, 48 or "forever" (as some American banks have done). But realistically the churn ears are in the minority here, you just think this is much more prevalent because of the company you keep (ie other AFFers).

I had my points after 5 weeks, wife around the same (if not quicker) as well. Hoping for a velocity 15% bonus next month which will be the icing on the cake :D

The games always changing, you just need to keep ahead of it.

Hi all

I hit the $2500 around 10 days ago, and yet the 75k is still not showing up on my ANZ online dashboard.

Called to query this, and the assistant told me the bonus points would not show up on my ANZ dashboard until 3 MONTHS after I had hit the spend trigger, and that the points would sweep across to my QFF account on the same date.

This seems significantly different to others' experiences on here. Should I call back and speak to someone else?

Not unusual. There have been a few people's bonus post early but majority has been up to 3 months. The most annoying part is that if it posts in the third month and then you have to wait until the statement cycle ends before it sweeps to QFF

Call centre will just blindly quote the black and white T&C's which is 'sometimes' different to what actually happens....
Think you just need to wait and see, and it may well come sooner than that.

I'm in the same boat, have passed the spend, and bonus not yet allocated...but I'm not in a rush for the points

Re: ANZ QFF Black 75,000 bonus with no annual fee 1st year -only $2500 spend 1st 3 mo

Thanks guys

So different to Amex - bonus points showed up the moment spends were hit. It's nice to at least see it sitting in your dashboard waiting to sweep across.

And now, we wait.

This was exactly what they said to me when I rang too.
