Re: ANZ QFF Black 75,000 bonus with no annual fee 1st year -only $2500 spend 1st 3 mo

As long as you are getting the Black card without an annual fee in the first year, and don't commit yourself to staying with ANZ for any length of time by accepting the $150 credit, then the only cost to accepting is that your 'exclusion period' will finish a bit later. Ask yourself the question: is $150 worth waiting an extra month or two (or however long you intend to hold the Black card) to re-apply? Keep in mind that there are no guarantees that ANZ will keep on running sign-on bonus promotions.

can any one give me a few pointers

I called up to try and cancel, got asked
quite a few questions, such as why, do you have any other cards with other banks, how mcuh balance is on them,

I got offered a $150 credit and free upgrade to the black card

my income is under the $75k required for this card, but I do want to
cancel and reapply for the bonus points for the lower card when the exclusion period finishes,

shall I accept this? or even accept it and cancel it

thats a very good point,

im happy to wait the extra month or two, I guess the other question I have is if Iwill get any other benefits having this card

I currentl have a cba diamond for my main Visa purchases, points wise the anz is better, but i dont use it that much anymore
but the promo offers are very tempting

I might accept, and cancel after a month esnuring there is no fee

Well I called to take the offer up and I was about to pull the trigger and I got told the annual fee is not waived.

OH well. The lady seemed super disappointed

I felt sorry for her and thanked her and went on my way.

She arranged the surplus funds to be transferred to my account too.

It's officially the first credit card I've canceled in my life :(

Received the 75k bonus points today after making the minimum spend at the end of Feb. Had got the Travel Adventures card earlier in the year (with 40k Velocity points) so was steeling for a fight over this, so delighted it was so easy.

Tossing up whether to churn immediately or save it for lounge access for a trip to London via Singapore in Aug or direct to Bangkok in October. Next Qantas windfall will be from the NAB Qantas Premium.

Hoping they are still offering a good deal when I'm ready to apply for this again later this year.

Do you need to do anything for the QF passes?

You must contact them. They do not come automatically.

Applied for this card last night and conditionally approved pending income verification

Credit score is copping a hammering at the moment only because I've recently started the bonus points game, my points balance has certainly grown :D
A data point: Veda score was 610 prior to application.

When I had this card last year (since churned) the passes just arrived in the post about a week and a half after the qualifying purchase.
The same happens with my normal card (Westpac black) whenever I make a qualifying purchase.
If there is nothing after couple of week it would be wise to ask.

You definitely need to ask for them

Whoops. Sorry you are right. I have just checked my spread sheet. I had three applications on the go at the same time, this time last year. Got confused. Please ignore previous post.

Ended up getting declined "based on the information supplied" :( - no surprise really based on my recent credit applications. Will wait for my credit score to increase and standby for another similar promotion.

This is my new application. Approved today and card in the mail.

My data points - late Oct westpac altitude 100k QF, January Amex Explorer 110k, March bought a house - mortgage application (advised by BOQ to close NAB velocity platinum to reduce my credit exposure as part of mortgage application), April this one.

The more I read this forum, the more confident I become at reapplying, may not be too long before I try another :)

My sentiments exactly!
I have applied for 7 in the last ~6 months (nerve-racking when I unexpectedly had to re-mortgage everything: I would absolutely have dialled down the applications had I known, but turned out to be smooth sailing).

Since I have now cast my net to include QFF points I'm finding reaching the minimum spend more challenging than the applications. Am definitely making hay while the sun is shining!!

Re: ANZ QFF Black 75,000 bonus with no annual fee 1st year -only $2500 spend 1st 3 mo

Just wondering if anyone who is self employed has applied for this card,
and if so how difficult was the application process?

yep. Self employed and it was horrible dealing with the Indian call centre. Worth the points though.

Anecdotally, how long have:

  1. the 75k bonus points taken to post after min spend met; and
  2. the 75 bonus SCs taken to post after flights flown.

TIA.
