From the Smart Traveller/Italy site "Green Passes are no longer required for most outdoor activities. From 1 May it's expected green passes won't be required for most indoor activities or services. Italy recognises Australian vaccine certificates as equivalent to the 'Super' Green Passes. However, the Italian Green Pass application isn't configured to read the QR code on non-EU format vaccination certificates. If you don't have a ‘Super' Green Pass, carry a hard copy of your Australian vaccination certificate with you (see 'Travel'). COVID-19 restrictions can change quickly. Follow the direction of local authorities."

Things are changing quickly in Europe at the moment. I suspect that by May, you won't need a vaccine pass for most things.

I do not arrive in Spain till late Sept 2022. Though my booster will be just over 270 days old, and so I will be watching to see if they (and others in Europe) relent on that requirement. Otherwise a 4th dose may have to be taken.

Ironic that many places are open to unvaxxed right now (e.g. Italy) - but Aus govt won't let you leave. Total lunacy.

Indeed. My missus travelling mid-month, although the French have thrown a curve-ball with their recently announced booster policy.

No booster (if >9 months since 2nd shot) - no entry.

I actually wonder if you can get the EU certificate at all in Switzerland. Apart from having to show my vaccination certificate when entering the country, it's like covid doesn't exist here.

Appears they no longer issue certificates to tourists. I understand Swiss nationals and permanent residents can apply.

I'd be interested in knowing where you get the AU-EU certificate done in Berlin. We're arriving there from Australia in June.

Just arrived in Berlin and now have an EU certificate (well, 3 actually) that scanned into the Luca app (as well as the German CovidPass app). It took two goes to get them. The first chemist refused, said they’re not allowed unless a resident or visa holder. He said places are required to recognise the AU code - but said “however, some don’t”…!

Went down the street and the lady there said similar but when we showed her this link, she agreed to make them:

We’re hoping we don’t need the codes but thought we get them just in case to avoid disappointment. I’ll post an update after a few days.

As an aside, flew out of LHR T5 this morning. Apart from been a very smooth experience (compared to SYD recently), we had no drama loading the Oz certificate into the ba.com booking pre-check-in At the airport, probably less than 25% masks around the terminal and onboard (which is pretty similar to London/UK at the moment). We were told on landing that it was a requirement to wear a mask on arrival at BER.

A small step forward re the Australian international vax certificate is that dual citizens can now get one online via Medicare that is linked to their foreign passport, as well as getting one linked to their Australian passport. No more need to ring up and spend hours on hold, then 2 weeks waiting for it to be posted to you by snail mail.

One thing I did notice is that you apparently need a Covid test if you don't have an EUDCC certificate (which the Australian one is not). Luckily I have the Swiss certificate.

Following as I am travelling from Seville to Lisbon in late June and was not sure about the Australian vaccine certificate. Are the Swiss still issuing them for a fee ?

I notice the TAP website claims Portugal now accepts Australian certificates: Alerts and informations

But would be nice if the visitportugal website listed that. Perhaps it will be updated soon.
