Unless they have got cracking on it in the last week or so I’m very skeptical that it will be ready thenTrip it tells me 61 days away. Not that I'm counting.

Rumour is that it’s going to be a contract lounge that any airline can pay to use. The debate was whether QF would pay to use it if they ever returned international to ADL.Months ago I went down to the new departure area and was talking to one of the airport staff. It was mentioned that there is an airside lounge but he did not have (or would not tell me) which airlines would be using it.
I'll just eat and drink in the QP and sail through immigration and board and await the champagne. The real stuff. Although last time we left from Adelaide on Qatar the flight was cancelled just as we were about the depart. Going back through immigration the wrong way was awful (and Commonwealth police lined the exit)! There were around 20 passengers in wheelchairs lined up and I have always wondered if somehow that was the issue given the plane had been on the tarmac for hours.Unless they have got cracking on it in the last week or so I’m very skeptical that it will be ready then
That date in Oct most likely alines to the Northern summer flight schedule. I agree that $1900 return in J return ADL-AKL is not that bad, sure at times I have got some very cheap deals with QF when the NZ sale fares are on but the rack rate in J ADL-AKL is around $1000.From October 4th QR914 changes to 1825 departure from ADL and arrives in AKL at 0105
Much better timing and the dates I’m looking at it’s $1900 return in J which is not too bad at all IMO
I've done it a few times. Cathay. Singapore. Qatar. Never on my bucket list. Execrable after duty free. There's - nothing - other than seats. And TRS counter.I guess this means at some time in the future I may actually catch an international flight leaving from ADL, something I’m yet to do.

I have arrived into ADL many time be it CX, SQ or MH going out was a different matter. I have often wondered why someone chooses to fly INT out of ADL, also I am surprised that ADL has a TRS counter.I've done it a few times. Cathay. Singapore. Qatar. Never on my bucket list. It makes around 3 hour minimum difference to flight time and the kerfuffle of transiting interstate domestics. Just have to forget the time spent getting to the plane.I have arrived into ADL many time be it CX, SQ or MH going out was a different matter. We tend not to fly out of ADL often as apart from the lounge experience we just don’t have as many options here and with EK in particular we had a vastly inferior aircraft servicing us. Was looking at fares around July to New Zealand and NZ is around $2500 via SYD/MEL, QF is around $1900 via SYD/MEL (also good chance of 737 on both legs) and QR is $1900 direct and in comfort. That date in Oct most likely alines to the Northern summer flight schedule. OT in a few weeks I will start booking a double banger OWR trip starting in NZ and on the back of this thread I mentioned to MrsM 'One of the airlines is going to fly ADL-AKL any guesses, her initial response was EK. I said no QR and got a 'ooh I like QR' (they have travelled in F and J) and after about a minute said we are doing that. I then mentioned 'I thought you had boycotted QR after the DOH incident a couple of years back' She looked at me and stated 'that was ages ago and we are not flying from DOH' I guess this means at some time in the future I may actually catch an international flight leaving from ADL, something I’m yet to do.

Maybe I have missed something in your post. This thread is about flights from ADL-AKL so the TZ works in our favour. I have no idea what you are talking about the 3 hour kerfuffle is about. It makes around 3 hour minimum difference to flight time and the kerfuffle of transiting interstate domestics. Singapore did operate a International Lounge Airside at ADL, but decided to close it permanently nearly two years ago.Months ago I went down to the new departure area and was talking to one of the airport staff. It was mentioned that there is an airside lounge but he did not have (or would not tell me) which airlines would be using it.
Having used it previously it is pretty unfair to call it a lounge. Was terrible and no great loss when it closedSingapore did operate a International Lounge Airside at ADL, but decided to close it permanently nearly two years ago.
Singapore Airlines permanently closes SilverKris lounge in Adelaide - The MileLion
There's one less SilverKris lounge in the world, as the Adelaide Airport authorities take back the space for redevelopment.milelion.com
More like adopting the position for the QF pineapple to be delivered where the sun dont shine.Just be prepared to adopt the Australian Tax Payer position for QR carrier surcharges.

I was aware that SQ had a lounge in ADL, I have never used it however Mrs&MissM have and when I asked what it was like the response was not great. On another note IIRC one of the QF lounge staff informed me that QF also had space for an international airside lounge up stairs (SQ level) but had never built a facility.Having used it previously it is pretty unfair to call it a lounge. It was really showing it’s age and whilst the chairs were comfy enough for a short stay I found the F&B offerings pretty poor. On one occasion they had only a few sandwiches that looked they were made a week before and on another the beverages were all pretty much room temperature. Maybe it’s just because I was used to SQ offering a fairly decent and found the ADL lounge a massive disappointmentI was aware that SQ had a lounge in ADL, I have never used it however Mrs&MissM have and when I asked what it was like the response was not great. I get your point, I am still thinking of travel in the pre covid mind set. Pre covid our primary place of residence was ADL however we also had place in MEL and family in SYD so never had to deal with the 3 hour minimum difference to flight time and the kerfuffle of transiting interstate domestics. It makes around 3 hour minimum difference to flight time and the kerfuffle of transiting interstate domestics. From above we may be on the same page and as I was often in either MEL or SYD I would just fly Mrs&MissM to my location prior to family trips be it QF, EK, QR or SQ. $1900 for QR J return is very palatable. Also given the love that QF and QR have for each other it would not surprise me if QR ditched access to the ADL QP and entered into to a commercial relationship with the new ADL international lounge. We tend not to fly out of ADL often as apart from the lounge experience we just don’t have as many options here and with EK in particular we had a vastly inferior aircraft servicing us. I’d say most likely they haven’t added the data yet and it’s a IT errorI was thinking of booking an economy ticket and using the QCredits from the status match to upgrade. Strangely, you need 3 times the Qcredits for AKL-ADL compared to AKL-DOH
Have I missed something?
