Article: Virgin Business Class Better Value than Qantas in 2022?

Just completed my first ever Virgin Au business class flights… including the pre-covid company. CNS-SYD and SYD-MEL.

Gotta say it was great! Fantastic crews. Good food (for domestic). Sparkling was at least drinkable. One crew for 8 pax makes service less rushed. Dedicated toilet is good. Priority boarding enforced. Priority luggage was, well… priority! lounges as good as QF.

For the prices VA are charging it seems a no brainier except for transcons where QF *might* have a bed. But even then… almost $3000 one way? Not worth it IMO.

Off to try Rex next!

If you have status with QF you should call velocity up and ask if they’d do a status challenge. A friend of mine was offered the whole Discover gold thing a few months back.

It will give you status a bit earlier and you’ll earn more miles for your dollar. Plus you’ll get to gift gold to someone for your efforts.
Yep, just email them and ask them to match. I did this a few months ago and was straightforward. Needed to do at least 1 sector and earn 80 status credits in a 5 month period.
