Seeing the Hotel is Land side are we able to access the airport to look around after getting negative result ?

You will be able to access Jewel which is where Yotel is located and the viewing galleries/shops landside in the terminals, but not the transit area (until you go through immigration for the departing flight). TBH, at the moment, Jewel is much better way of spending time than the transit area anyway.

Thanks again. That is our plan to have a look at Jewel for a few hours then off to another hotel for 3 nights before getting onto The Queen Elizabeth cruise ship back to Australia if our government ever allows ships again.

Thanks for the report @JessicaTam

Hopefully we'll also be able to travel to SIN later this year. Unclear if we'll be able to buy RATS here in NZ or bring them back from overseas (currently prohibited).

Thanks for the article JT. Looking to spend a few days in SIN in July so even though things might change, it is still good to read.

To summarise some of the questions about transitting SIN:

If you are on one ticket then you can wait airside for your next flight. If it is a long transit you can use the transit hotel - but book early.

If you are on separate tickets you must enter SIN and satisfy all the requirements I have listed until your flight. That includes isolating until you get your on-arrival PCR test results. Even if you have a flight to catch you can not leave your accomodation. So make sure you leave at least 36 hours between flights.

And thanks @AIRwin for posting the link.

We travelled Syd-SG in Nov 2021.Changi airport was unlike what it used to be with only a few shops open. I felt like it’s about only 10% of retail shops are open with sparse activities overall. For F&B we were at the SIA lounge, otherwise I think very few shops are open as well.

Fingers crossed that this works out, Singapore evaluating the use of self-administered ART as soon as arriving home/designated accommodation, in lieu of arrival PCR. That would be excellent, save $100 and only 15 minute wait for results.

Hopefully starting to improve now.

I've still got a valid frequent traveller program stamp in my passport, am I still able to use the e-gates upon arrival or do those entering under the VTL need to go to a desk instead?

I have one as well. I was ushered to a staffed gate so didn't get to see if I could use an e-gate. I used an e-gate when I departed.

I forgot to mention that I was handed a free RAT to compare results.

Ok interesting, I'm arriving very early Saturday morning. I doubt the rules will change by then but the RAT compared to PCR would be amazing!

No not inbound. I’m a Permanent Resident and still had use the desk last week. They give you a coloured dot to stick onto your shirt which then determines where you go next after collecting baggage.

Does anyone else think the Trace Together app sounds super creepy? No? Just me?

I guess I prefer my govt surveillance more covert 🙄

Ok correction, my partner arrived last night and did use the entry gates, they handed out the coloured dot after passing through them. Maybe it depends on volume of pax, when I came through very few pax (and I was first one to reach immigration from my flight). Or I was T1 my partner was T3. Who knows.

And possibly we could transit with separate tickets!

@dougie it will likely take several hours for your result to come back - you will need to stay in your room during this time

If they make this change and it's reasonable I'll be going to Singapore for a long weekend sometime in June or July for sure. This PCR stuff has really got to stop...!
