Thanks for sharing your experience.

This update today is great news. Does this mean transiting on two separate tickets is now possible?

Planning to fly up from MEL-SIN on a VTL flight and connection to a separate miles redemption tikcet onwards. I was planning to still allow a day in between just in case.

I didn't see any changes to the transit. But it will be easier and faster to get into Singapore and then back into Changi for a separate ticket flight.
I'm in a similar position and will wait a couple more weeks to see if transit regulations evolve!

Assuming negative on arrival...for those trying a landslide transit aka arrive, pass immigration/customs and then check in eg same day/next day

Yep, this is my plan. Although, it looks like one needs to find a place to get ART done.
My understanding of yesterday’s announcement is the supervised RAT would be the same way as previous supervised PCR ie at airport, just pass immigration??!!

About Quick Test Centres (QTCs)

Quick Test Centres (QTCs) provide self-paid ART, where the test will be self-administered and supervised by an approved COVID-19 test provider. The test will cost $15 (inclusive of GST), with payment to be made at the QTCs through cashless modes, such as Mastercard, NETS, PayNow and Visa. Individuals will need to bring along their photo identification for verification at the QTC.
There may be one at T3. I presume "Self Paid" means BYO RAT ART ...
You need to book, but it seems you can't book without a working SG phone number.

EDIT

29. We will also move on-arrival ART test for travellers out of the airport, to one of the 200 Quick Test Centres or Combined Test Centres around the island. Travellers will receive a booking link to take their ART within 24 hours of arrival. Minister Iswaran will speak more about this, as well as changes to the current VTL schemes.

Anyone done a LAMP on arrival instead of the PCR?

I just went to book my arrival test for tomorrow and if offered either a PCR test for $125 or an Express LAMP (with 1 hour turn around) for $204. I've opted for the $204 as the extra $79 for a 1hr turn around means that basically by the time I get to the hotel I'll have results.

I guess this is all a moot point in the next few days once they switch to RAT's.

This is good news. Transiting SIN from CPT (to SYD) still required a PCR a week ago (and a holding cell visit). From what I read of it, the RAT for entry to Australia will do now. Certainly makes life a lot easier for those travelling to a country that doesn't require testing.

TRANSIT But what does it all mean?! This from official website today:

"Travellers are advised to check with their airline if it has an approved transfer route through Singapore before purchasing tickets. Travellers do not need to obtain approvals under any Safe Travel Lane (e.g. Vaccinated Travel Lane) to transit in Singapore."

Can I take the QANTAS VTL flight to SIN with no check baggage, stay in transit and proceed to the booked airline of my choice?

Does anyone else think the Trace Together app sounds super creepy? No? Just me?

I guess I prefer my govt surveillance more covert 🙄
We were on this app during our Nov visit. We accepted as part of the requirements and responsible for everybody’s good.

Does anyone know if the no testing for transiting includes things like airport lounges?

Can anyone explain this to me about transfers at Singapore -

"Under the government's transit travel rules, passengers who arrive in Changi and plan to depart on a different airline, must have both flights booked in the same booking itinerary. Passengers must also have their checked-in luggage tagged-through from the origin airport to their final destination.

So for example if I want to book some Qantas flights (ie. classic rewards) to Singapore from the Qantas website, and then make a separate booking with Qatar or Emirates to fly from there to Europe, this is not possible?

Why do they do this, is it a protectionist measure to force people into flying with SQ?
